The dinner consisted of a three course meal, and it was very good (we both had the beef steak). The show was entertaining overall, maybe a little long. The charango (Bolivian folk stringed instrument) musician was fantastic. I would recommend visitors who are new to Argentina to go to a tango show. We liked Gala Tango because the setting is... I was very dubious. Most of these touristy places have terrible food and are schlocky cliches. This place is diiferent. We were at the Faena Hotel show last time we visited. It is around $250 a person. Great but very expensive. This place is half the price and terrific show and surprisingly good food. We just ordered off the menu.... More

We went for the show and we were not disappointed. They first serve you food and as it ends the tango show starts . It really wonderful and the artists performed extremely well and the timing was perfect . And in the end they sing the national anthem of Argentina which is the highlight. But as we did not know... A totally wonderful show with dinner and drinks. The dancing was amazing, the singing excellent. The musicians brilliant. The Gaucho was fantastic. A wonderful night out. A good selection of food with plenty to eat in a very enjoyable three course dinner. A choice of Malbec, white wine or beer which is constantly topped up. Enjoyed the Malbec very much.... More

Starting with the good: LasVegas style show with Tango Dancing, Gaucho show, vocals, and incredible musicians. Can't say enough about the quality of the show. Food: good food and service. Waiters expect a tip - but hey they earned it. Tango lesson - we missed most of it - see comments below. But the instructor did a great job. Loved... More

Attended this show on the recommendation of our concierge who said that the Gala show was a more classic form of tango. The venue was very pretty. We were seated upstairs, which is slightly more expensive but worth it. It was very intimate with the front tables directly alongside the stage. The food was fine. As a vegetarian, they catered... The dancing and band were fantastic and definitely worth seeing! Really loved the tribal music and performances. Not such a fan of the singing though. The food is only okay and could easily be missed. The dinner price includes unlimited wine; however, they pushed cocktails at the start of the meal and only mentioned after you had ordered them that... More

The hotel recommended and booked this for us at $160 per person. Pick up and transfer took 45 mins. The venue, 3 course meal and wine (included in price) was very good. The musician's were excellent. The show itself was hour and half but I would say the dancing was only for 45 mins. The rest was 2 people signing... More

Seeing a professional tango show in BA is one of the must do things. The show was simply amazing, we could not take our eyes of the fantastic dancers in wonderful costumes. This is one of the upscale places so it was a small venue and we were up close with the performance. The dinner was very average - I... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
