Neighborhood: San Nicolás
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.

Paseo La Plaza is a cultural and commercial complex in the San Nicolás section of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was enjoyable walking around this area. Lushly landscaped with more than a hundred types of trees, Paseo La Plaza boasts several theaters, an open-air amphitheater, a small convention center, and the first and only Beatles museum in this part of the world.
Overview. Paseo La Plaza was built where the bustling Mercado Modelo once stood. Serving residents in or near the 1600 block of Corrientes Avenue for much of the twentieth century, the ornate market hall was also popular for its Bachín y Pichín Restaurant.

Paseo La Plaza is a great place to visit if you are in town. They offer lot of Options for Theater as well as some pretty decent restaurants. They also have convenient parking.
Tickets for shows can be purchased in place or via web. There are also stand up late shows.

Beautiful theatre in.BsAs. The place is pastoral and romantic, and there are many wonderful shows. You can buy tickets few days before the show in the theatre itself. We bought 2 days before and great seats.

This place is excellent if you are looking for low/mid budget stand-up shows, or even important theatre presentations (NOTE: I guess 99% of them are for Spanish speakers).
The place if full of small theatres and coffee places, some lecture spots -is there even a place for having dinner and experience some Salsa shows!-.
The place is in Corrientes Ave., (where all main Theatres are located) so you can walk around during night looking theatre plays or some good reading (as you can find several libraries that close late-night).
If you are "culture vulture" type of traveller, this must be one of the places you would like to step-in.

Whenever I get tired of hot and sticky Buenos Aires -that is, every two hours or so- I run to Paseo La Plaza and take in with a sigh of relief the cool shade, the teathers, the cafes, the cobbled paths... All in just one teeny tiny block. Thank God it is so near my school.
Sure, Buenos Aires is a gorgeous city, but like any large and bustling metropoli, it gets a little bit tiresome. If you are a tourist -which you probably are- you will enjoy hanging out here for a while.
