We had an absolutely wonderful time! We enjoy history and culture and our instructor/guide's shared knowledge and love of Tango made our night a very special one. I know we will never dance as well as many of the couples we watched, but it was a stunning lesson in what an exquisite dance the Tango can be. We really enjoyed learning a few basics, and the opportunity to watch couples in the milongas was exceptional. Highly recommend beyond one of the canned a Tango Shows, which we of course saw on a previous trip. It was a truly memorable evening!

Wow, how lucky was I ! I had Jose to dance with (he taught Michelle Obama and danced with her at the Argentinian Presidents dinner) and Naomi the USA Argentinian Tango champion in 2013 to instruct me - it was a marvellous experience!!! After the dance lesson we went to a local melonga, where the locals gathered to dance. Thank you Cyrena for organising a fantastic evening. I couldn’t have asked for more!!!

We had a big group of us visiting from the States (few couples and singles) and we had a tango lesson and then a Milonga outing at night - it was a phenomenal experience. Our main guide, Francisca, was lovely and taught us all about the culture of tango - and then we got to see it in action during the Milonga. Highly recommend this for a lovely evening! Great guides and great cultural experience.

My spouse and I combined a dance lesson with a milonga outing during the busy summer season, and it was a wonderful experience. The lesson before the show was terrific; our teachers filled us with enthusiasm and good technical instruction (as much as fits in one evening), and taught us about the tango scene in Buenos Aires. Although we were not quite talented enough to dance once the milonga became crowded, it was an electric experience to be at a mainly-locals venue with a live orchestra, energetic crowd, and one of the best tables in the house for people-watching. Our tango instructors were great company, shared endless information, and had entertaining stories about the tango scene they are passionate about. We wrapped up in the wee hours, so happy that we stole this glimpse into true tango culture.

We were just in Buenos Aires over the holidays, and although we were going to a professional tango show, we also wanted to try something more personal on our own. I read about Narrative Tango Tours and contacted them to see what was available. Cyrena gave us several suggestions and we decided to do the tango lesson followed by a visit to a milonga. It was myself (52), my husband (54), my daughter (16), and my mother (79). Our instructor and guide, Francisca was amazing. Very patient with our limited dance talents and various ages! We all thoroughly enjoyed learning tho! After, we went to the milonga and Francisca explained all about the music, the customs, the traditions, etc. My mother was even asked to dance by one of the locals! It was truly a fun evening for all and a great way to see "real" tango for the people. I would highly recommend!
