The title says it all really: I took 4 hour classes which went very quickly because they were actually enjoyable. It was "intense" in the sense that EVERYTHING was in Spanish, which was fantastic, and the three teachers I had during the week were all very easy going, actually encouraging interaction and chatting between students so long as it was... I took a week long "intensive" course at VOS in July 2014. Due to time restrictions I had, I was looking for a 1 week course to refresh my spanish (since I haven't really spoken it in 2 years) and build on the basics that I already know. For the cost of the course, I was disappointed with the structure... More

The educators at VOS have impressive backgrounds - i.e. worldviews, artistic directions; they're cool and intelligent just the way they are. You will engage these passionate qualities when you, the student, can effectively transform the classroom into, not just learning another language, but learning from a deeper cultural discourse. Yes, I'm sounding like a New Yorker, but I can't help... More

I have taken four classes at VOS over the past few years and my skills have improved very much since I started. Its a very chill place. Although I am in my 50's and most of the students are younger, I've found it a wonderful and friendly environment. I will be back again in July.

Taking lessons at this School was like sitting at someones home, with your private instructor by your side, so comfortable and encouraging. I started practicing and learning the minute I entered the place. Is the most welcoming and fun place to learn the language! It is also conveniently located in the center of Buenos Aires!

I really enjoyed the courses a lot and the teachers were helpful! Some teachers were more attentive than others, but I learned a lot! I was only able to take courses for a week, but I attended the extra activities the whole 2 months I was in Buenos Aires. So I was still able to work on my language skills... More

Want to learn spanish in a quickly and in a very fun manner! You must sign up for VOS in your first days or weeks in South America. Learning spanish extends well beyond the classroom walls, as they are focused on an inclusive cultural experience, because of this you will become completely immersed in the language. In addition to classroom... More

Maggie, Gaston and all of the other teachers and staff at VOS will make you feel welcome whatever your level of Spanish. Group classes are fun, and a great way to meet people if you are new to the city. The cultural activities such as tango classes, films and trips to museums, galleries and performances are great too. I would... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
