We engaged Cultura Cercana Tours for two tours and one airport transfer while we were in Buenos Aires. Our guide, Mirta, was extremely knowledgeable and showed us her beautiful city and imparted a lot of information regarding its history, culture, and landmarks. When our original plans got cancelled by rain one day, she quickly came up with alternate suggestions which... More

With language barriers in our way we were looking for a guided day tour and came across this offering. By far has been our best decision in BA. We visited delta Tigre and went across the BA city with Andres who speaks decent English and is very knowledgeable about the history and geography of Argentina. It was a very joyful... More

I trusted three of our Customers to their service. We were 100% satisfied. Alejandra, the tour guide, just made an outstanding job: punctual, reliable, clear, knowledgeable and very friendly. I would certainly recommend it.

I found Cultura Cercana on Tripadvisor while looking for a transfer from Santiago de Chile to the Valparaiso cruise terminal, combined with a sightseeing tour in Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. While Cultura Cercana is based in Buenos Aires, they have agents all over Chile and Argentina, and they can tailor any trip to your liking. Communications with Cultura Cercana... More

On 26 February I and five fellow travelers enjoyed an excellent seven-hour (full-day) tour of Buenos Aires with Grisel of Cultural Cercana Tours. We had made all arrangements through Mara, of the same company, and found details exactly as we’d been promised. Well, there was one hitch -- which was not the company’s fault – and I’ll explain that in... More

We just returned from a cruise around the Southamerican Cape Horn from Buenos Aires to Santiago. My husband is handicapped, so it is difficult for us to keep up with regular tours, so I contacted Mara of Cultura Cercana. I had read reviews in Trip Advisor. We had four tours with them, two in Bunos Aires, in Puerto Madryn, in... More

We arranged a private tour with Mara to transfer from our hotel in Santiago to Valparaiso. The driver/guide Hugo picked us up on time in Santiago and provided a great tour - very informative and totally flexible to accommodate our interests and wishes. Included a stop at a winery for a tour and a wine tasting. Provided a fairly extensive... More

We just returned from Buenos Aires after spending a few days there post cruise. Grisel is an amazing guide - her English is excellent and her knowledge of the areas, sights and history made our tour the best that it could be. She and our driver, Frederico, were on time to pick us up and never once did we feel... More

Mara did a fabulous job making our time in Santiago and Buenos Aires an efficient and complete experience. In Santiago, because of our flight arrangements, she was able to split our City Tour over two days and still work in a tour of the Concho y Toro winery. We had a similar great experience with our City Tour of Buenos... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
