I arrived in Buenos Aires last September for my first visit to South America. I was aware that the international airport was located a bit out of town, and I was anxious of public transportation since I was a single female traveling alone. Juan Pablo met me at the airport and drove me to my Airbnb in Retiro (a neighborhood I highly recommend.) At no additional cost and without my needing to ask, Juan Pablo offered to escort me to exchange my dollars to pesos so that I could get the best rate. He also walked me to a local market and gave me welcomed advice on where it was and was not safe to travel on foot, or during night hours. He also gave me wonderful suggestions on local entertainment, and even assisted me in booking reservations since my Spanish is limited. His recommendation for Senor Tengo was perfect. Later in the week, my boyfriend joined me in Argentina and we wanted to spend a day at the beach. Again, I asked Juan Pablo his advice. He quoted me an excellent rate and drove us south to beautiful beaches, a gorgeous sunset, quaint seaside villages and wonderful meals (plus ice cream and donuts)! It was a long drive, but it was a great experience sharing stories and singing along to some of our favorite songs. It was truly an unforgettable day! Although I had learned to use the public transport with little difficulty, I arranged for Juan Pablo to take us back to the international airport. He was a perfect guide, driver, host and ambassador for his country. I now consider him my dear friend. I am planning to return to Buenos Aires in November 2019. Juan Pablo will definitely be consulted and made part of my plans.…
