I walked in with no reservation. There was some empty seats, so the owner let me in the wine tasting of the day. I liked the wines, cheese, hams, the owner and the staff members. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The best wine shop in this area.

I cannot rave enough about my experience at Ja! Joaquin and Gaston made us feel like old family friends as soon as we arrived. We ended up buying a bottle after tasting a few wines and drinking it with them in the store! Before we knew it, Joaquin had ordered burgers for all of us. It was one of the... More

We stopped in in the evening on our first day in B.A., looking for a bottle of wine to take back to our airBnb. Joaquin and Gaston greeted us and helped us pick out a couple bottles...before we knew it, we got to talking and Joaquin invited us to have a seat and enjoy some wine together, gave us a... More

We bought a couple bottles at JA. The selection was excellent and included many labels not seen at other wine shops in the city. They offered us a 35% discount with cash payment which was appreciated and made a major difference in our decision to buy.

We had a poor experience at the Friday night wine tasting. We confirmed in advance whether it would be given in English as well as Spanish. We were puzzled when the tasting kicked off with a Spanish video. Then the guy giving the tasting asked if everyone understood Spanish. We confirmed we didn't - he said he didn't speak English,... Hi, how are you? We are aware of your case, and we are sorry about it. As you may see among our reviews, we are a place where foreign people is totally welcome. The problem was that the speaker of the winery of that tasting, didn't speak english, even when it is a requirement from us. Again, we are sorry... More

Awesome wine shop in a very hip part of town. Joaquin and Gaston make you feel like old family friends even if you just met. We had such an amazing time hanging out in the shop and trying a few wines the first night of our trip that we came back two more times. They are incredibly helpful at finding... More

Great selection of Argentine wines, but do go in knowing that the prices are more than the norm at wine shops in Buenos Aires. We asked for about cash discounts and they offered 20% off!

Hi Paula, how are you? We certainly don't use price as our hook, we are more about the experience of tasting, the experience of buying, and the expertise on argentine wines. In this scenario, you may find some wines in a lower price among the City; however, discount is given only when the purchase deserrves so, it is not a... More

I found this place on TA and wanted to check out some harder to find Argentina wines. What a wonderful place! Gaston helped us try a few wines and his recommendations were perfect. The owner, Joaquin, was incredibly friendly and welcoming - "Nice to meet me!" he jokingly said. I had some wine sent back to the states for a... More

Joaquin knows how to throw a party! Imagine showing up to his party and being handed an elegant wine glass and escorted to a room where 9 sommeliers stand behind 150 opened bottles of malbec from every region of Argentina for your tasting delight and, for the next 5 hours, it is open bar. Joaquin knows you can't drink good... More

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
