About
We source each of our wines from small producers from across Argentina. We start in the arid north then move down to the cool plains of Patagonia, then up to the famous vineyards of Mendoza. All of the wineries we work with are family run and pride themselves on making unique wines, packed full of character! We taste four wines, each by a different producer and from a unique region of Argentina. To make everything even more mouth-watering, each wine of paired to a homemade regional tapas, prepared freshly by Aby.

This private wine tasting and home-cooked food pairing was a wonderful experience, both delicious and educational! If you are like us and want to learn more about Argentine wines, but don't have enough time to fit Mendoza or other wine-producing regions into your vacation itinerary, then this tasting is PERFECT for you!

Bertie is an expert in the Argentine wine industry. He walked us through the major wine regions of Argentina, teaching us about elevation, soil types, and which grapes grow best in each area. We were poured ~5 different wines to taste (mostly reds, but also some whites) plus an olive oil, all of which were from smaller producers. We were excited to see bottles from smaller producers, as throughout our trip to Argentina, we found that most of the restaurant wine lists were dominated by the bigger wine houses. It was fun to try wines that we otherwise would not have come across.

Aby is an amazing chef, and provided a small bite to accompany each pairing. The presentation was very well done, as the food was served on the cutest plates/bowls. We especially enjoyed the empenadas and chocolate truffle. We also were able to buy a few bottles to take home with us after the lesson!

We booked everything online, which was super easy and straightforward. The tasting was held in Bertie and Aby's apartment, which was quite cozy and really made you feel at home!

10/10 experience. If we're every back in Buenos Aires, we will definitely return!

Buenos Aires and wine tasting seem to be a perfect pairing. I researched wine tastings for my husband and I and another couple and kept coming back to Wine Discovery. At first the fact that it was held in the couple's apartment made me a bit leery, as we were first time visitors to Buenos Aires. But after reading the glowing reviews, I decided to take the chance. Well, it was incredible. Bert and Aby welcomed us to their apartment and proceeded to take us on a tour of Argentinian wines. Bert would tell us about where the wine was produced, including a map of Argentina. Aby would pair each wine with homemade delights prepared while we were learning about the wines. The food was incredible. This young couple have created a first rate wine/tapas tasting experience. Don't hesitate, book now and enjoy.

We booked this experience for our first day in Buenos Aires so that we could get an introduction to Argentinian wine and food. The tasting takes place in the home of Bertie and Aby which is comfortable and cozy. Bertie did an excellent job of selecting representative wines from key regions in Argentina and pairing them with delicious local tapas made by his lovely wife Aby. Bertie is a sommelier and very knowledgeable about wine in general and provided very interesting and useful information about Argentinian wines in particular. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with them and the entire wine and food experience. We highly recommend it.

A fantastic first night in Palermo BA. We organised this food and wine night from Australia. A beautiful evening in the home of Bertie and Aby. Very close from our hotel. We enjoyed Bertie’s stories of wine in the surrounding districts, his knowledge was excellent. His choice of wine from the smaller wineries was fantastic and the food pairing from Aby delicious. A most enjoyable evening. Thank you both.

This wine pairing / tasting experience was a huge highlight for my trip to Buenos Aires! My dad came to visit me while I stayed there for 5 weeks and he also felt it was a great experience. Bertie was very welcoming, entertaining, and knowledgeable about the wines we tasted. We were going to Mendoza, so my dad asked for wines that were from different regions and Bertie delivered! Aby paired the food very nicely and the flavors of her dishes were phenomenal. Couldn't recommend this more if you love good wines and foods, appreciate an intimate experience, and enjoy good conversation!

We sat on Aby and Bertie’s lovely covered terrace and learned all about different regions of Argentinian wine from Bertie, paired with delicious small dishes prepared by Aby. There were 2 other couples with us and it was a nice opportunity to meet some fellow travelers while enjoying great wine and food. Would very highly recommend adding this experience to your itinerary. It was a rare opportunity to be invited into a local’s home and and feel a bit like locals ourselves for a short while, visiting a friends place for a small party. Of course we did learn a lot too. Can’t wait to come back and try it again.

The whole experience was great from start to finish. To organize it they give you their WhatsApp or email and are always on top of their responses. I had to change out group number a few times and they were very understanding about it. They created a very welcoming private environment. We had fun and learned still a lot about wine and the pairing were all hand made fresh with each glass of wine. They share particular, unique boutique wines you cannot find anywhere else. Four tasting with a last 5th glass this is a special one and not to forget and oilve oil tasting with desert. I would highly recommend this experience, it was amazing with them!

Our private wine tasting with Bertie and Aby was one of the highlights of our trip to Argentina. It was a surprise event scheduled by the company that planned out itinerary (SA Expeditions).

This wine tasting is unlike any we've experienced. FIrst of all, it takes place at the private residence of Bertie, an expert on every aspect of Argentine wines, and his partner Aby, a very talented chef. The location is a suburb of Buenos Aires a short drive from the city center.

We tasted four different wines from small or family-run wineries in different regions of the country. Before tasting each wine Bertie talked about that wine's history and the conditions in which the grapes were grown. After each wine Aby brought a local dish of her own creation. These included Humita (a traditional corn stew dating back to the Incas), empanadas (the best in Buenos Aires!), chori chipa, and dark chocolate truffles. Yummy! Great pairings.

Aby promised to give us her recipes for all these dishes. When we got home there was an email from Wine Discovery that included all the recipes. And not just typed out. Each one was on an a beautifully designed color page decorated with drawings of the relevant ingredients.

Wine Discovery, i.e, Bertie and Aby, are a class act. A tasting at their home is something not to be missed during a trip toe Buenos Aires.

Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience of food, wine and stories with Aby and Bertie!
As we drove up to their stylish apartment,Bertie met us outside to walk us up-we used the elevator and it’s a second floor with a lovely pool view.
Aby welcomed us and we were seated on the balcony with several bottles of wine set out to share.
Bertie is a sommelier from England so he shared wine info including a small Argentina map to show us the regions of the wines we were drinking. Each course was accompanied by great selections including champagne with the first course/a white wine with the second and a merlot Malbec and a blend in the red categories. The food was equally worthy of praise!
Aby made the tastiest empanada ever and a corn /cheese /chick pea combo dish that was perfectly seasoned.
My all time favorite was her dessert-a handmade truffle with a merlot sauce! Delectable 💖
The banter and travel stories were so fun. This afternoon outing in Buenos Aires was the highlight private experience of our monthlong travel so it was clearly quite special.

We had a lovely time learning about Argentina’s wine-growing regions and got to taste three different wines from small bodegas and the major regions (Salta, Rio Negro and Mendoza). Bertie did a great job of explaining about the wines produced in general and the specific wines he selected for our tasting. The tapas Aby prepared were delicious and perfect for the wines they accompanied —I only wish we had arranged for a tasting with more wines and dishes. The olive oil tasting was also very good and, surprisingly went perfectly with the chocolate truffle. The cozy atmosphere of their home was much appreciated. We all left with a few bottles of the wines Bertie introduced us to, so the pleasure of the evening continued on into the following days. Good work Bertie and Aby!
