About AsadoAdventure
Participate in creating a typical weekend family asado (local bbq) that Argentina is famous for. Your guide wil take your small semi-private group to the butcher shop, the bakery, and the wine store, all the while walking the cobblestone streets of either Palermo Viejo or San Telmo, just like a local family would do. You then go back to a large private home (not a restaurant) and help prepare the asado. It is a first-hand experience of learning how to prep the meat, create the salad, build the fire with charcoal and wood, and all the while learn about the neighborhood (guests might want to jot down the different shops visited for some shopping later). The tour is an experience where you can learn about asado customs, and learn more information about the city in a very relaxed atmosphere. And you would be eating a fantastic asado guided by the very capable hands of a master parrillero (local grill master).

Customizable Food Tour of Palermo Viejo

On this 5 to 6-hour customizable exploration, you will discover Palermo Viejo’s culinary secrets while enjoying its food, history, and vibrant art.

We start with what used to be the doorway to Buenos Aires, after a short typical Porteño breakfast.

The city’s parks and tree-lined boulevards were first inspired and planned from this area, and that curiously enough is home to one of the continent’s oldest monuments.

You will sample Argentina’s famous steak in a non-touristy location, as well as relish the emblematic Argentine sandwich along with a variety of local favorite appetizers and snacks.

One of our food stops has a craft beer option, and we can also add a wine tasting, if you like, in the middle of all of that food.

While walking from one place to the next we will have some time to admire local street art. This is a tour that you experience with all of your senses and you will enjoy plenty of picture taking opportunities.

I lived in Buenos Aires for seven years and I have had a lot of different chimichurris. Frank's recipe is hands down the best. My husband and I took his virtual class and learned a number of great cooking tips. We have since made Frank's recipe twice and in two different ways

I learned so much with this class! Now I can bring the authentic taste of the Argentine asado home with me. Frank, the host, really took the time to answer all of our questions and I left the class knowing that I could do this at home without a problem.

Thanks for the nice words! I also had fun showing your family how to make your own chimichurri. It was a really nice treat seeing your daughter follow along making her own chimichurri in real time.

We booked the food tour in an effort to learn about the history of the local cuisine, while getting a walking tour of the neighborhood. Our guide had a wonderful knowledge of the local street art and neighborhood and was very willing to answer questions. She lacked the food

I'm so glad that you found the tour to be a very good value and that your tour guide had wonderful knowledge of the local street art and the neighborhood. But I'm also sorry and surprised to hear that you thought she lacked food knowledge and that she wasn't very seasoned. We picked the restaurants to visit to give a varied exposure to local foods and try to explain them all. It's not just about how yummy they are, but the why behind some of them. I'm also surprised because she also happens to be one of our most popular guides. I will go over the information with our guides again to make sure that we are all up on the same page with our food information. But I am glad that you liked your experience enough to leave a nice review and to actually recommend this to others. Thank you for taking the time to share this and for actually taking the tour and spending the day with us.
