Blue Lagoon
About
This lagoon on Turkiye’s Southern Coast is best known for its serene vibes, silky sands, and perfectly blue waters. The shallow waters are great for families, and there are sun loungers for rent for a relaxing day under the sun. Plus beach bars and restaurants that serve up cocktails and delicious Turkish fare. The best way to see the Blue Lagoon has to be on a sunset paragliding adventure that launches from the craggy Babadag mountain nearby, for awesome aerial views of the lagoon and surrounding coves. You can also go on a boat tour and explore Butterfly Valley, Gemiler Island, and other hidden beaches and coves. – Tripadvisor

    Mixed Vibes
Beautiful place in an excellent location 15-minute walk from Ouldenz strip. There's a bus stop 10-minute walk from the lagoon bringing people in from neighbouring towns. Golf trolleys travel up and down from the bus stop for a small fee for anyone who has mobility issues or doesn't fancy walking in the heat. There's a couple of restraunt bars that serve food and drink however you do need to load a pre pay card to pay for this and also sun loungers (kiosks dotted all over to get the cards). A pair of sunloungers and umbrella work out about £10 for the day comfortable enough but not the cleanest. First impressions not what the pictures show stoney beach not sand and so busy '(cattle market springs to mind ). Nevertheless, it's still very beautiful and worth the visit crystal clear waters against the backdrop of lush green mountains. ADVICE ...... take rock shoes 👍

    Blue Lagoon being spoiled
Visited the Lagoon many times in the past . Was very surprised to fine the Lagoon had become so over crowded with cars and people . It is no longer a quite place to visit. To many cars and many hotels have took over parts of the beaches as their own. It was Mayhem recently you cannot enjoy the serenity anymore . Such a pity the lagoon is a money trap and being spoiled.

    The Green Lagoon
More a green lagoon than a blue lagoon. Sun beds crammed in up to walkways. 10 lira to go to the toilet, and a total tourist trap milking people. Go down to the beach to the right at the fork where the blue lagoon starts (parallel to the mountain) and it’s free sun loungers in some places, and much cheaper food and less crowded. The blue lagoon has a system as of writing where they give you a plastic credit card type points card, and you can top up with credit card or cash. Tip: If you top up with cash, you can get your money back at the end for any left on it. If you do it with a credit card you are unable to get any remaining balance back.

Enjoyable visit to the Blue Lagoon
Lovely visit to this place on holiday. Need to use a top up cash card for a lot of things, such as sun beds, which is easy enough. You don’t have to pay for a sun bed though if you’re happy to just sit on your towel. We used our own bank cards to hire paddle boards which were a reasonable price. Water lovely and warm and calm. Would visit again for sure.

    Relaxing few hours
Spent a relaxing few hours at the Blue lagoon, it was nice & clean with a plant pot for rubbish at each pair of sunbeds. We were able to easily find a set of sunbeds with a parasol easily despite the area being extremely busy. A nice swim in the water too. Showers & toilet areas were plentiful with changing cubicles available.

    Nice morning walk.
It was the end of the season when we walked 'round the Blue Lagoon so many business' were closed. We stopped off at one restaurant for a coffee but the machine was out of action and we were only able to get a little cup of 'Turkish coffee', not to every ones taste ! It was a pleasant walk but nothing to shout about.

    Gorgeous spot ❤️
We visited for half a day but you can easily chill out here for a full day (some people bring their own chairs and umbrellas) We just wanted to have a swim in the blue waters, chill with an iced coffee and take in the stunning surroundings. There are some fish but I'm not sure it's a snorkeling site. The entry price is good value (and means it's well maintained) but the sunbeds are over priced. We walked around to the back instead where your free to lay your towel down without being moved on.

The murky green amstel and effes bottle lagoon
I was hugely disappointed by the blue lagoon. The olu deniz beach has clearer water. When I arrived I thought I'd made a mistake and hadn't walked far enough or something, was a big let down. Definitely not clear blue water. I don't know if it ever was but all I seen was murky water with lots of rubbish in it. From tarpaulin, beer cans, bottles, bottle lids all under the water, cigarettes everywhere, it wasn't a good paradise setting. Maybe I've been spoilt by seeing some of the beaches I've seen in the Caribbean, South America and Asia, but I just don't get it. I don't see why you have to pay either. All the restaurants are way overpriced, the sunbeds are way overpriced it's just a tourist trap. On the plus side my son did enjoy swimming in the shallower water and did manage to see some fish but other than that, bang average and massively overpriced.

Before arriving in our hotel in Olu Deniz we decided we was going to take a trip to the blue lagoon . We stayed just across the sea from it at Liberty Lykia adults only and was able to catch a boat over to it which took about 10 mins which we enjoyed . But on arriving at the Lagoon it was badly run the beach and surrounding areas was filthy plastic bottles strewn all over the beach rubbish everywhere. The staff on the other hand just wanted your money you have to load a card on arrival to pay for beds , umbrellas food drink etc but what really annoyed us that they charged to use the toilet facilities . All in all this is a terrible trip to take but obviously you may feel different if you go . Would we go again definitely NOT . We didn’t stay very long and went back to the jetty to get the boat back to our hotel . Blackpool beach is cleaner !!!!!!

The spit of land along to the lagoon, uses a credit card for all payments. Only cash can be refunded, so be careful using your own card. Though, then found out our debit card could be used for food and drinks, their card for beds, umbrellas, lockers etc. very busy location, and it seems there was rules for tourist and rules for locals. Confusing to make purchases, though food was ok, and not overly expensive for location. Real downside, was not being allowed to have 2 beds, for us, as we are not ‘sun lounger people’ and we were a party of 5, they tried to force us to have 4 beds, and would not let’s us put towels on sand. We did not want to afford paying for 4, so after heated discussion we got our money back, and we’re ushered off the site. Then saw lots of local families doing what we wanted too. Advice, go to public area early, but be prepared for game of sardines.

Beautiful place , very calming and relaxing. There is one shop and one restaurant both charged reasonable prices . The beach is stoney and we bought coral shoes which made such a big difference getting in and out of the water. I would recommend you lay back and watch all the paragliders coming down from Babadag mountain.

From distance the sea looks picturesque, the closer you get, the worst it gets. It’s very busy and there are bottle tops and discarded cigarettes butts scattered across the stone beach. The sea is clear, warm and a blue-ish colour. Sunbeds are also very crowed together in sections where they’re!

They run their own top up card system to hire sunbeds and buy food /drink. They now also operate a new no refund system, so be careful what you top up. You also have to pay cash to use the dirty toilets. We visited on a TUI ran trip to Fethiye and Ölüdeniz and I feel it was miss sold.

Effective management could massively improve this place!

Good points first. Water is very shallow and you can walk a long way out. This is amazing for children. We arrived early so managed to get a sun bed at the front. Our waiter was fantastic. Very efficient, brought drinks and food quickly and so friendly. We hired a pedalo which was great fun. The water is deeper out in the middle and lovely for swimming. It was clear and a gorgeous blue.

Bad points. When you arrive and first see it, it looks like a lake. The water isn’t blue. More of a murky green. And the worst part is myself, my partner and my child all got swimmers itch. Please take time to read what this is if you don’t know because it may prevent you getting in the water. We are all covered in a red very itchy bumpy rash that appeared the next morning. We will not be going back in the water!!!!

Blue Lagoon is in danger of being seriously ruined. The price to enter the carpark is exorbitant, it is highly commercial with everything costing triple what it should and the quality of food is very low. I am so saddened by this and will be looking for an alternative beach this summer.

Food is appalling. Severed cheap turkish stew everynight. Chicken stew with cheese floating in it. That was vold.
Cold meze suchh as mixed cheese in mayonnaise or green beens in tomato sauce, to be eaten with bread chips, chicken nugarts or rice that's not cooked.

They said the next meal woukd be a Sunday lunch but failed to tell us it was £26 per couple.

Not enough sun loungers. You have to get up at 8 to get one. Th pool is lovely.

Turkush staff trying to get money out of you with sad stories. Ie my girlfriend is English we can't afford to get married. She is so upset because she wants a wedding dress, only to find out he is already married to a Turkish woman.

I spent a few days on the beach in Oludeniz and a few days on the beach of Cleopatra in Alania. So I can compare both of these places. My impressions are as follows:

Alania's Cleopatra Beach is very large. And there are hotels along the entire length. So there is no problem finding a hotel close to the beach. The Oludeniz (Blue Lagoon) beach is adjacent to a very small village. So it's hard to find a hotel. You will probably commute by car to get to the beach.

Using a car in Oludeniz in the high season requires spending about 40 minutes in traffic jams. Access to the beach by car, 2 kilometers away, takes about 40 minutes. The Oludeniz beach is very crowded. There is a huge amount of tourists there. There are fewer tourists on Cleopatra Beach.

There is sand on Cleopatra's Beach. Romantic walks in the setting sun are possible. There are stones on the Oludeniz beach. So forget about walking.

Cleopatra Beach is very clean. Oludeniz beach is dirty. You can see rubbish everywhere - even next to the sunbeds. The water on Cleopatra's beach is fairly clean. On the Oludeniz beach, 2 meters from the shore, the water is dirty. A little further - cleaner.

Cleopatra Beach is located in the city (Alania). Oludeniz Beach is surrounded by high mountains. There are nice views.

Summary - if you want to go to Oludeniz you may be disappointed. But there is one good news. From Oludeniz you can sail to the Butterfly Valley. It is a really beautiful place to be recommended.
