- Rae H70 contributionsFantastic value for a full mud bath and thermal spa experience; a tad busy when the boats arrived but arriving before and staying when they have left is definitely the way forward. Great fun to cover yourselves in mud then plunge in the lake to wash off. Thermal pools were also invigorating - although did not have the domes on in August- probably due to the water temperature 40 degrees and air temperature being quite high. Toilet and changing facilities were clean and very acceptable (even for a ‘discerning’ visitor) with lots of seating areas to leave bags etc and so unsure what other people have commented on negatively? The prices of drinks and ice creams were also favourable and the Garra Rufa fish treatment was definitely more than reasonable and highly recommended. Yes it’s a tad smelly (that’s the sulphur!) but a fantastic value for money day out in a stunning lakeside location which leaves you feeling refreshed and invigorated.Visited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 13, 2024
- jlsoph25Montbeliard, France244 contributionsVery pleasant experience, sulfur bath at 39 degrees, mud bath, possibility of swimming in the lake. All for a low price, possibility of drinking and eating on site. Pleasant environment, on the wooded shore of Lake Koycegiz.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 23, 2024
- Tour444469842853 contributionsWe went as part of the Dalyan experience tour. First stop was the mud baths at Sultaniye. The mud bath was fine (a bit crowded at times) and the hot thermal pool was ok (we didn't go in the domes so cannot comment on these). The thermal pool was a bit precarious to get in and out of- only one ladder down and the stepped edges were quite big steps to get down and in to the pool and were also slippy - so take care. The toilet facilities are dire- a hole in the ground would have been better. There are changing rooms but these are in need of a clean and renovation given they are in a bad state of repair. It was a nice experience but spoilt by the need to use the toilet facilities, which were really disgusting in cleanliness and hygiene terms and also like the changing facilities were in a poor state of repair.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 27, 2024

This was quite an amazing experience. We went on a boat trip from Dalyan but were sad to have only just over an hour at the baths. The trip as a whole was well worth it but more time at the baths would be better. Most trips charge 150tl each (£7.50) but the Cooperative boat gives a tour of part of the lake on the way there and a short time to swim in the lake from the boat afterwards.
Maybe worth thinking about a day's car hire, take the car ferry which is to the North of Dalyan and drive there to enjoy at your own leisure.
The baths entry fee was extra but was only 15tl each (75p in Oct '22). It gives access to the mud bath, showers, indoor and outdoor hot thermal springs and of course the lakeside if you want to swim there.
It was a well worthwhile experience and quite a novelty too.

Everyone seemed to love this place but I hated everything about it. The strong smell of sulphur didn’t put me off but the place looked dirty and off putting. Nowhere decent to change, nowhere to leave your belongings… everything looked on its last legs. Basic is a kind word to describe this place.
The only good thing was the 20tl charge to enter… they charged as soon as people got off the boat.

We went to the reviews somewhere incredibly bad. When you enter the $30 entrance fee, you can see and smell the dirt all over the place they call it a mud pool. The dirty woman takes a shower, the dirty water flows in there, the old ladies sit in the pools, they chew up in the dirt. We’ve been out there for two hours and still have the smell on our nose. What good reviewers are doing

What a great experience! Can’t say that the mud bath was especially enjoyable, but leaping in the lake to remove the caked on mud was really invigorating. The first open air thermal bath was a jolly affair with all the locals and children hanging out and chatting, everyone was very friendly, quick plunge in the lake and then back to the covered up ‘quiet’ thermal (separate facility available for ladies if desired)… spent about 30 mins in there just floating around. Sheer bliss! Great couple of hours spent here and so reasonable. Take care on the slippery surfaces

Visited during a boat trip towards end of the day (4pm ish) - not too busy. Only 20L (80p) per person.
Very strange experience in the mud. Thermal baths really hot!
Plenty of options to buy food, drinks and ice cream all at very reasonable prices. Definitely not the usual opportunity to take advantage of a captive audience.
Great showers to wash and clean up before setting off.

First, I entered the hot water pool. Then to the mud pool. It is said that the mineral water coming from the mountains is beneficial to the body. It takes half an hour for the mud to dry. A feeling of relief comes after washing. The entrance fee was 20 lira in July 2023.

I visited the mud baths today and I liked it. It was great that it worked during winter, and the hot mud and water could warm my bones. I would recommend this place for everyone since it costs only 20tl per person.

Been to another one within the city centre a few years ago to find out about this little gem! The real deal! Come away feeling relaxed! I believe we paid 20tl for entry which worked out less than a pound! It was amazing! Nice and smelly but soooo worth it!

Hi, I recommend this place. It is quit old fashion like 30 years back. The maintenance is not as good but it is not horrible. There are showers, but only salt water. There are little houses for stay but I suppose that only for local people. Like in Turkey, people speak a little of English. The cashier speak quit good English. The price is very low. Around 4 TL for person for all day.
The place is quit good. It could be better but it has got it is own climate. In old ruins. The place is very worth to see.
There are 2 open pools. One with grey mud. Second only hot water.
There are also two big pool inside the two places - tents.
Mainly local people from Turkey. Very open like for closes Turkish people. Do not speak English but very polite and nice.
Two man gave me tea. One from Istanbul second from Ankara. I gave them some sweets.
I prefer to go there by car. It is possible to go round with the coast from Dalyan. It is a trip about 1 hour. If you want to go by boat. You can take your car. There are two ways for ship - carrier for car. Cost 25 TL for 1 round.
If you want to go by little boat with people only it is cost around 50 - 100 TL for a day. You will be there only for 1 hour in bath. The owners from the boats says that there is only one way to go to bath only by boat. So do not listen to them. They lie. It is said. Because they lie even in hotel. So you have to have your own point of view.

The nearest hotels are in Koycegiz. We recently stayed at the Kauros Hotel there, which was good - fairly basic but clean and the staff are friendly. From Koycegiz, you can drive around to the mudbaths or do the drip across by boat.
There are also lots of hotels in Dalyan, which is at the opposite end of the lake to the mud baths, but there are boats that run between the two, however, I would recommend hiring a boat for your exclusive use if you decide to go this route. That way, you can spend as much time as you like at the baths, whereas the organised trips only allow you about 40mins or so.

How easy is it to get to mud baths from koycegiz?
Traveling last week September for two weeks
Written May 20, 2019
It is quite an easy drive - assuming you have that option - but there are also boats that ply their trade between the harbour at Koycegiz and the baths too.

Would like to know how to get to this place from Istanbul. Also suggested places to stay overnight and place to book the day or evening boat tours that include the mud baths and hot springs. Thanks
