Love this place
Oct 2020
After all the good food in Tomar, this is a great place to walk it off, colours of the trees very pretty this time of year, and nice well signposted walks.

Just a very beautiful park with something for everyone
Mar 2019 • Couples
This park, one of many beautiful green spaces in the city of Tomar, is exquisite. You can, if you wish, walk all the way up to the Convent on various pathways. If you do go to the park, you walk beneath old and pine trees and are surrounded by terraces, flowers galore, hedges, fountains and urns. A very beautiful and peaceful spot to sit a reflect for minutes, or hours, before setting out to sightsee again. It is certainly one of the most beautiful parks we visited on our trip. There is no admission charge as it is open to the public without charge.

peaceful haven
Mar 2019 • Couples
We came here for a walk, after lunch. We followed one of the many paths and had an extremely peaceful good walk. The views were lovely and all the perfumes in the air,the orchids ,bluebells etc were wonderful. Many appropriate stone seats to take a rest.
This GARDEN is FREE and magic. We went in the interpretation office on leaving ,gosh amazing place, and free, the ladies obviously are very passionate about their work with children, some of the exhibits were lovely.
We were amazed to hear their is only one gardener to manage the estate,
What was also lovely there was no rubbish around Tthe people of Tomar are obviously proud of this peaceful haven in their town,as i would be if i lived here Even the public toilets were available ,clean and free .
Thankyou

A peaceful calm heart of Tomar and a great walk
Sep 2018 • Couples
We are so glad we discovered this gem of a park...part botanical garden, part history walk right beside the Convent of Christ. There are several walks longer and shorter options but all very doable for most ages and fitness capabilities.
The gardens are truly beautiful, the scent of flowers apparent in the morning and evenings, you walk past historic ruins and aqueducts, caves and fountains. Plenty of shade or sun as you prefer

Not to miss if you are in Tomar
Nov 2018 • Couples
Lot of different colors; green, yellow, orange, brown..., very quiet place to just sit and listen the birds and observe the nature. If you like to walk, there are differents path to get to the Convent of Christ and it is really worth it the walk. The entrance is free.

Formal Gardens and Walking Trails
Jun 2016 • Solo
Lovely green space located just a couple of minutes walking from Tomar's Praca da Republica (Square). The lower formal gardens, accessed through the impressive Cerca's Entrance are an absolute delight to walk through. Manicured hedges form geometric patterns that are lined with pleasant walking paths. Higher up the slopes, beyond these gardens is a sprawling forest replete with pleasant shaded walking trails. Several trails (all are well-marked, color coded and give approximate walking times) lead to impressive viewpoints. There are several beautiful fountains, reservoirs, remains of a 16th-17th century aqueduct, an old mill (partially in ruins), a children's playground and several open lawn spaces ideal for picnics. A small information center is located towards the park entrance - bathroom facilities are available here.

A quiet place to walk or relax not far from the main streets
Oct 2015
These gardens are worth a visit if you like to walk, or even just sit quietly. If you want to walk all the way round it takes about an hour, or you can just stroll through the middle of it. There are toilets just inside the gate.

There is a sort of summer house which they are now re-building. In the summer the gardens are more attractive as there are more flowers, but they do try and keep the box hedges neatly trimmed all year round.
