This lovely river runs calmly North to South , dividing Tomar into Old town to the west and the new town to the east.
While taking a relaxed slow stroll along it you may discover some beautiful attractions : the green Mouchao Park , some statues , black & white swans , ducks and herons , quiet small waterfalls , functioning water-wheel ,
a few bridges . Great for using your cameras .

The river runs though the heart of the modern city of Tomar, and was important means of transportation in olden times. Toy can walk, or drive, across it via the the Old Bridge (Ponte Velha) or its formal name, Ponte de Dom Manuel. There are excellent views of the river from the bridge, from where you will probably see swans and ducks on the water, and if you're lucky a heron, as I did. On the west side of the bridge there is an old canal which leads from the river, with what were once warehouses on its bank. On the opposite side of the river to the Old Bridge is Mouchao Parque, which has a functioning water wheel and offers a pleasant walk along the river bank. The majority of sites to visit in Tomas are on the west side of the river.

A river to see, to walk by or to go down the stream in a canoe. There is really something about it that deserves a visit to Tomar.

Rio Nabao cross the town of Tomar and there is a very nice Park along it. It's very romantic to seat in the park, under the shade of a tree, and look at the interesting dam and the ducks swimming in the other side of the river.

The River Nabao runs through Tomar and is crossed by the beautiful Dom Manuel Bridge. We enjoyed walking along it and admiring all the animal and plant life. With the wisteria in full bloom, the heavy scent of perfume was in the air. Just a fun walk to relax.

the river is beautiful as it goes along the old town and 'mouchao park', but it lacks two things: 1-it's always polluted due to some factories located up north the city; 2-it lacks more river activities for locals and tourists such as canoeing and boat rides. it has a great touristic and recreational potential.

We ate our lunch in the shade of a tree along the river in this very pretty park. From here it is only a two minute walk to the main square.

the river being tamed in the city makes it a refreshing town, the inner city is built around the river and does give a bit of a quiet retreat as such
