The perfect ending to our South African honeymoon
If we had the option to do only one wine tasting during our stay in Stellenbosch we would 100% make it Oldenburg. The only thing that beats the breathtaking views are the people. We had the pleasure of having Freda assist us with our wine tasting. Her personality and knowledge made for the most enjoyable experience. She truly made our whole experience next level. Freda made our tasting in to a fun game by having us guess the type and years while also giving amazing history of the wines and grapes. We visited Oldenburg on the last day of our honeymoon and we can without a doubt say it was the best day we had.

    Most Incredible Wine!
What an incredibly perfect location for tasting wine! My wife and I just enjoyed the breathtaking views and wines this estate has to offer. I would absolutely return and we fully intend on shipping some wine home. The wines are truly unique and highly crafted. I cannot say enough good things about the young man (with the old soul) who served us and explained the wonders of this special place. HIGHLY recommend.

    Fabulous private wine club dinner
Thanks to the whole team we enjoyed an amazing wine club dinner on Saturday night with the proprietors Adrian and Vanessa. Meghan, Greg and the amazing team made sure we had a great evening. The food was delicious from Salt and the wine went perfectly.

    Beautiful wines in gorgeous setting
We found this special winery through reviews in Trip Advisor. It was worth every one of its 5 stars. We bought a lot of wines and are still enjoying them a week later in Hoedespruit. The service was masterful and the setting perfect. Visit if you are in or near Capetown.

    A true gem
We came for the wine tasting. The oldenburg vineyard has some exceptional wines, the cabernet franc was a favourite of mine, but all the wines were wonderful. Greg was an excellent host. We even had a tasting of the 2008 maiden vintage...what a beautiful wine.

    Best tasting experience!
If you visit the Ban hoek valley, this wine farm is a must! We made a booking for a wine tasting and were assisted by Jaques. The farm and tasting room is beautiful and the views… wow!!!! The wines are amazing! We received a nice cheese platter to enjoy that was included in the tasting. Jaques was the best sommelier and made our visit the best experience in the valley. Allow yourself enough time when visiting as you will not want to leave!

Our wine guide/driver for the day wanted us to experience a real actively young winery, but just old enough to have a wide variety of wines to choose from. Stephen was an excellent host, and explained the microclimates created by Rondekop: a beautiful conical hill nestled in the valley. With its ancient and rocky soils, along with varied positions for sunlight, it gives a wide variety of experiences for the vines and flavors for the grapes. We ended up ordering and shipping the most wine from this location. There are over 300 vineyards in this region to choose from, but I can clearly see why our guide led us here

A must for anyone but for us it’s because of love of quality and in particular red wines. Without giving away the experience there is a reason the wines are so good and location is a true key for these wines. The tasting with olives and the most incredible cheese flower takes it to another level.

We discovered Oldenburg a few years ago because of Rainbows End, just down the road (requires appointment, at least pick up some Cab Franc- a must!!! ). Now these 2 wine farms are forever a favorite to us and the friends we share it with.
This last visit we had Siphiwe (Sipwe) which was a gift. We missed Siwe this time but it was still wonderful and we were very cared for!
We went for Cab Franc and yet we’re again surprised by the Merlot and LOVED the Syrah!
I can keep going cause the Chenin Blanc is also a favorite, the last visit we bought the last of the 2016 lol.

Stunning location, beautiful tasting room with great extremely knowledgable staff, who made you feel very welcome. Included in the Tasting fee cheeses/olives/crackers ,which added to the experience. Well worth the drive off the Main road. Just keep going and you arrive at the Vineyard eventually!! The wines are seriously good.

As a tour guide taking foreigners and locals to wine estates to taste wines it is clear that Oldenburg is only catering for wealthy foreigners with no regard for locals. R250 pp to taste 1 wine at that price the platter of cheese olives and crackers is not complimentary. The quality of the wines are good.

This place is just amazing, our second visit here and it surpassed the first which was no mean feat. Some of the very best wines with one of the most dramatic settings you could imagine.
Saving the best till last a mention for “P” as she’s affectionately known. This lady is nothing short of sensational, her knowledge of wine, her enthusiasm and engaging manner making the whole experience so special. She should be the voice of Sth African wines, promoting them on a worldwide stage, she is captivating.

Picturesque boutique vineyard. Beautiful setting, good wine and delicious tidbits. Only downside was that we could not purchase wine to send home because the shipping costs were outrageous. However, that is not a reason to miss this winery. Well worth the trip.

The service was exceptionally good. The winery is not very well known and is only famous among connoisseurs, especially for its Chenin Blanc, far beyond the borders of South Africa.

The winery is very modern, has a fantastic location and invites you to linger. Unfortunately there are no meals, but delicious olives, cheese and special biscuits are served with a wine tasting. This is really high level...

This place is such a hidden gem! Quite far from the main road but so worth it. Stefan took such great care of us and provided us with an amazing wine tasting experience in the beautiful setting of the vineyards. Highly recommend this vineyard - make sure you reserve in advance to not be disappointed.

CometoCapeTown team were invited to Oldenburg Vineyard on Tuesday and the experience was unlike no other that we have to brag.

The very knowledgeable, Stefan the head Sommelier, kept us entertained with his stories about the vineyards history, the wine making process and much much more. His warm smile and friendly approach complimented the healthy sized portion of wine he served us which were served with the most amazing cheese, crackers & the most delicious Tokara olives. A combination to die for especially since I’m not an olive lover & I devoured these.

Oldenburg Vineyards Tasting Room is also above the rest, hands down. Other than the decadent wines, which will get me going back time and time again, all the staff at the Tasting Room are SASA graded Sommeliers, so you guarenteed an exclusive knowledgeable experience every time.
