We booked a vinyard/winecellar tour and a winetasting. Our guide showed us around enthousiasticaly and told us the story about the wines and the vinyard/family. Also the winetasting was very pleasant and we ended up buying a couple of the tasted bottles.

We spent four days in the Stellenbosch area and visited dozens of wineries and this was by far the worst. The staff was completely disinterested and would rather play with their computers than wait on their customers. This is one of those wineries were they hand you a glass and your slip of paper tell you to go find seat... More

We went to Simonise for a wine tasting on our second last day of holiday, and the only thing that I regret is not going there first. We arrived quite early in the day for a tasting, so it was lovely and quiet. We were served almost immediately, and with the friendliest service I have experienced in a long time.... More

We went to Simonsig as a group to taste wine and have a meal.To start the whole experience, we were given a display of Sabrage, where the top of the sparkling wine is seared off with a sword. Quite an art. We were all given some of their sparkling wine to taste and it was very good. We booked as... More

As far as my wine tasting and farm visiting experiences go (of which there have been many over the last 8 years of living in the Cape), this was not up there on my list of...well, anything really. Not necessarily my worst, but not on the "yes" list either. Service - average to poor. I generally found the staff quite... More

I went here with a wine tour. The wine had a few different varieties to fit many tastes. We had cheese and different small parings to accompany the wines and a demonstration (with audience participation) of opening a sparkling bottle with a sword. It was a beautiful first stop on our tour and I would recommend the sparkling varieties that... More

What stuck me most when visiting Simonsig, was their emphasis on their family and their history. Large information boards outside tell the story of the farm, its wines and the people behind the art. Inside the cellar, commemorative plaques, pictures and informative signs celebrate the people who have made the business great. The staff are accommodating, knowledgeable and very friendly.... More

Wow did Simonsig go out all the way to make my birthday special. Hired one of the private tasting rooms and had the most amazing time with Denzel and his staff. Always learn something new about wine in such a fun and pleasant setting.

I've been there twice now and the second time did not disappoint. It was amazing. Wine is cheap and delicious. They have won multiple awards for many of their wines. It is very casual, one must go back and fourth to try different wines. R35 gets you 5 tasters of your choice and the wine glass itself. View is spectacular.

The Kaapse Vondel can really compete with Champagne. Also the late harvest wine of from excellent Quality, can only be bought in the winery & strongly recommended if you want to take home something exceptional.
