Excellent food. Wine tasting was an excellent experience, we were assisted in the wine tasting route by a most knowledgeable and professional lady. She successfully converted me from white wine only to purchasing some of their delicious reds. Highly recommend when in the area.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 16, 2023
- Josefine WBerlin, Germany819 contributionsBeautiful Wine Estate - good with kids tooBeautiful and cozy wine estate in Stellenbosch area. It has been our second time we visited the estate and both times did not disappoint. On weekends we can recommend the families market, especially when you visit with kids. This time we also did a wine tasting with accompanying mezze. Wine as well as food wise very nice experience. Service has been friendly as well but I just say we are a bit sad that the tastings feel like everyone is in such a rush even though not many guests are present. The explanation for each wine is presented in such a hurry (you cannot even start processing what has been explained let alone to have a sip and process the said story and the actual taste) and wine is poured directly in e.g., 3 glasses (does get warm quite fast in summer time). May be the tasting culture has changed throughout the years - so this was the only thing disappointing.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 9, 2024
- Mike481,604 contributionsGood Sunday morning spotPopped in for a walk around and ended up having breakfast A nice family friendly spot with plenty to do for the kids. Small selection of market stalls and a food court offering international choices Plenty of shade if sunny and a big selection of food and drink available. Our restaurant breakfast was very goodVisited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 28, 2024
- BenjiJMMelbourne, Australia60 contributionsBeautiful setting and nice selection of winesA very simple cellar tour followed by an enjoyable wine tasting (even though I wasn’t a fan of a couple of the wines) paired with a nice range of cheeses. A nice setting inside and out. Overall an enjoyable way to experience some Cape countryside and the wine regions of South Africa.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 12, 2024

What a shame, this flea market has gone commercial/corporate/upmarket. Take your pick. It used to offer a great family experience. Independent exhibitors providing a variety of foods and goods. Like so many places these days the business consultants have come in and advised a "brand awareness campaign". We used to love this market and it's family appeal. We went there last Sunday and we won't be going back. The warmth and the South Africaness has gone. If it produces jobs and helps start ups to get where they are trying to go, then all well and good. However, I doubt that will be the case. This market will struggle to attract local families in the future. I fear this change was a bad direction to take. If the market returns to a semblance of what it used to be, we might return. What a shame.

Epic fail. Made a reservation for 4pm today. Excitement as told on Dineplan that your kitchen is open at 4pm not many venues are open at that time.
It was a special day celebrating our daughter's graduation and our 21st wedding anniversary.
Arrive.... was told kitchen closes at 4pm but they will make a plan however we must leave by 6pm as you have a private function.
How to feel special? Could you not have called to tell us?
Really disappointed especially since we had a reservation that was confirmed by Dineplan.
Honestly not surprised. The treatment we regularly receive at the deli post the MyRun leaves much to be desired. Never been made to feel welcome there.
But thank you Lanzerac, saved the day, being treated like royalty.

Their kitchen decision making can be improved. We sat outside at the play area, where we are required to order take out boxes. By the time we wanted to order said boxes, we were told the kitchen could not handle the volume and therefore had to move into the actual restaurant away from the play area. The restaurant was not busy. This made no sense to me, whether you are making food for a box or a plate, same same. We ordered our child a toasted sandwich, which is also in their kiddies box, they would not accommodate us there either.
Look, the market here is great but I really feel the restaurant can do with some proper management.

We drove to Stellenbosch to spend the morning at the market, at the gate while in the car we were shouted at by security to put masks on or turnaround.
At the market entrance another lady demanded from me to put my mask on.
Look, before I enter any venue I put a mask on but seriously, why does Blauwklippen hate their customers?

5/5 for ambiance and creating the best place for families to enjoy their day. They’ve thought of everything and it’s really so beautiful. Kids play areas. The bike area. Our kids used both areas and it was a huge hit. The biggest downfall was their service. The waitress we had and rude and treated us like we were in the way. We did tastings and boards and all the time felt like we were the extras she didn’t want around. In fact she said as much at one point, she pointed out that now that she’s caught up with her tables she can see to us! Wow! We were also a very well paying table.
Other than this, venue, tastings, restaurants, kids area all well laid out and the food was good. The wine exceptional. Service absolutely awful. What a pity.

We often visit Blaauwklippen as it is so family friendly. We always eat at the Deli so we can watch the children okay but the service is never good. Increased waiting time and wrong orders have happened numerous times. Such a shame .

An authentic place, historic and beautiful. A great place for wine tasting as well as wine shopping individuals, groups or family. You can spend hours here drinking and enjoying the rich heritage. They have great staff, busy but always with a smile on their face, highly knowledgeable of what they serve. Great food, complimented by gourmet’s cheese. Cozy and old furniture, beautiful lawn garden and a spectacular display of art makes this place the best in Stellenbosch! A must visit when you are in this area! If you are a wine connoisseur, you cannot miss this place!

Our party of five had an enjoyable time wine tasting at Blaauwklippen one Friday afternoon. The menu boasts a decent selection of wines, and the lady who served us was friendly and knowledgeable. I'd steer clear of the snacks, however, as the popcorn and crisps are prepackaged and commercially produced. Overall, there are few better ways to spend an afternoon in Stellenbosch than wine tasting with friends under the oak trees.
