We visited the Neethlingshof Estate as part of our hop on hop off wine tram when visiting Stellenbosch as the first stop of our day. The estate was beautiful and very much kept in its original form, tastefully modernized with state of the Art elements and a beautiful wine shop & cellar inside. The surroundings really were the highlight of the stop, as the tasting was probably the least memorable of all stops. The young Gentleman was very friendly, but particularly knowledgeable about their wines, which didn't do the experience much wrong, but could definitely be improved.

Wasn't sure what to expect and had a really nice experience. Be sure to order the Story Tasting selections, the host for this is quite thorough and entertaining. A few good wine options, to include the Pinotage and "Maria" (MM), and interesting food pairings; worth the stop.

We arrived on a 35c day and were directed to a table under the trees. Service was initially slow, but after we ordered things started to happen. Drinks arrived. Yummy food arrived, and we tucked in. Superb mussels, followed by pork belly to die for. Hubby had delicious fillet and the view just topped it all off. Lovely experience and gorgeous wines. We'd definitely come back.

This is really a specatular place. Breathtaking views with animals included. The wine tasting is a decent price, and I love the fact that they do kiddie tasting (adorable). Thanks to our lovely waiter Wanda who was friendly and very insightful. If you love red wine,I would highly recommend Neetlingshof.

We visited Neethlingshof only since our first choice winery was closed that day -- but were glad we did. The wines on the tasting list were definitely above average, the venue pleasant, and our host was friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside? We couldn't purchase any to take away, as it was a national holiday !!

My wife and I did a tasting platter with wine pairings at the vineyard. The food was really well paired but the best part of the experience was our server, I think his name was Romeo. He was a wealth of knowledge and we insisted he sit with us as he walked us through wine info, the vineyard and SA life. It was his personable nature that pushed a good wine tasting experience to a great one. Don't miss out on some stunning wines with a great guide.

The restuarant is situated in the middle of the vineyards with splendid views towards the mountains. Outdoor seating is available under shade. A wide variety of delicious choices from the buffet will ensure that we come back again.

I was here as part of a Gate1 Travel tour of the local area, including a couple of estates for wine tasting. This one has very well manicured grounds, and a reasonable selection of good wines to sample and purchase. We sampled 6 different wines, with each one given a description by our host. The wine tasting experience was good, but there wasn't any food pairing included with our tasting.

Nice settings of the winery with astonishing mountain views ( not from the tasting room thought). Wine is in general good, especially Gewurtztraminer. Tasting room is large, cozy, with pleasant atmosphere. Service was not so knowledgable about wines and shipping services (just repeading the lines she has memorised.) Otherwise very pleasant and enjoyable visit.

We arrived an hour before closing time and there was just a total lack of interest in helping us. As it was raining, we decided to stay and wait for a spot as all the tables and wine tasting chairs were taken. The wine tasting area was a mess and extremely untidy. I have never encountered such unfriendly unhelpful staff. We had to ask several times for someone to assist and even after someone was allocated it was too much trouble for this lady to assist us. We had to wait forever between the different tastings and had to call her back each time or get her attention. Her knowledge of the wines was very standard. My advice is to stay away when they are as busy as they were clearly understaffed.
