Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, with a recorded history dating back to 1692. Spier's winery has won multiple awards in recent years, including Producer of the Year (Mundus Vini, Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show 2011). We also performed exceptionally at the 2011 International Wine and Spirits Competition (five Best in Class Gold medals and two trophies), and were the top performing SA winery at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for three consecutive years. The Spier cellar has ISO 22000 certification, is Fair Trade accredited, organically certified and follows the Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) criteria.

There is a huge parking area that opens onto a paved path with various craft stalls, mostly aimed at the... More

Myself, my hubby and two toddlers explored the Spier Wine farm at length. What a beautiful and tranquil place! Once arriving, you're greeted with a real African-feel market that sells African items that are handmade and unique. We headed straight for the Bird Sanctuary where my son could experience first hand several species of birds. He loved it! We then... More

We visited Spier Wine Farm for a wine tasting evening and a wedding function. The surroundings are stunning and the setup for the outside wedding was out of this world. The food was very tasty for both the wine tasting and the wedding and we were very well looked after by all staff on duty.

There are tons of winery in the Western Cape, this one, for me, stands out for it's interior decoration and the art thst are cleaverly chosen both inside and outside and in the garden. It's a real delight to walk around.
