Excellent collection of a variety of local artworks in a gorgeous venue. Cheap R15 fee to enter and worth every cent. I've been several times with school groups and family members and have enjoyed it every time.

The Rupert Museum houses some of the best of the best of South African art! Worth the visit to see work from most of the older SA masters.

This is a good stop for maybe an hour when walking around downtown Stellenbosch. There are three halls of art, but the main attraction are the panels painted by JH Pierneef, which used to adorn the train station. Just beautiful. And at R20, practically free.

This museaum houses some of the very finest South African art and really is a must - a plus (in my book) is that it's not very big, so you're not overwhelmed. Well worth it.
