This was an unexpected pleasure . A beautifully curatored exhibition of collections of African art representing different styles . There was just enough information to aid understanding without overwhelming the visitor. The highlight for me was the work by Higgs , and a phenomenal piece on colour 16m long by Nigrini. I recommend this for everyon, of any age regardless... More

Excellent collection of a variety of local artworks in a gorgeous venue. Cheap R15 fee to enter and worth every cent. I've been several times with school groups and family members and have enjoyed it every time.

The Rupert Museum is definitely worth a visit and it should be repeated annually. It's a great way to see some of the world's great art treasures that are brought in for a season, including some of South Africa's greatest artists. Take enough time if you're really interested in details and want to see all of it, since there's quite... More

It is incredible that one family can own the amount of art pieces shown in this museum. If you are a Irma Stern fan this is a must see.

The Rupert Museum houses some of the best of the best of South African art! Worth the visit to see work from most of the older SA masters.

This is a good stop for maybe an hour when walking around downtown Stellenbosch. There are three halls of art, but the main attraction are the panels painted by JH Pierneef, which used to adorn the train station. Just beautiful. And at R20, practically free.

This museaum houses some of the very finest South African art and really is a must - a plus (in my book) is that it's not very big, so you're not overwhelmed. Well worth it.
