About
The exclusive winery of Peter Falke is nestled against the majestic slopes of the Helderberg mountains in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands, South Africa. Groenvlei Farm is home to rambling magenta bougainvillea, delicate scented roses and wild lavender growing alongside carefully cultivated vineyards. Dating back to the 18th century, the traditional gabled Cape Dutch buildings of the wine estate belie a contrasting modernity within. The stately old homestead is partnered by a "boutique" winery, contemporary wine tasting room and luxurious outdoor lounge which have established Peter Falke Wines as the most elegant and serene sundowner retreat in the winelands. Owner Peter Falke and his better half, Daniele Gortz, invite you to enjoy the exceptional wines that reflect their lifestyle, cultures and personalities.

We were looking forward to ending our night here for the sunset but we were disappointed with the wines, food and scammy service. We could tell the waiter(Danny) wanted to sell the bottles of wine. He did a fine job at serving us our tastings and food (which we were not super impressed with). He did a fine job so we left him a large tip. While going to our car the waiter(Danny) came out and wanted to “pay” us for American dollars. We gave him a dollar and he kept going on and seemed sincere so we gave him a 5$ bill, he continued to go on and I realized he just wanted to get our American money. There was nothing in return for this money like he said. Since it was such a small amount and we saw what was a occurring we left. Be aware of similar things occurring if you go to this winery. I would not recommend. There was many other great winery’s around that had way better wine and a better experience.

Thank you Liberty for a beautiful Sunday afternoon at this wunderful place . We came here for a wine tasting and ended up spending the whole afternoon at the vineyard. Very tasteful wines, order can be placed via Capreo which makes it easy taking memories home. Liberty is a very kind, and smart person who did explain us all about the wine we had.

Delicious wines and the staff who know everything about it. Liberty is very professional and goes above and beyond. Besides that he is also very funny and made our day!!! The cheeseplatter is also something you don't want to miss. We will come back for sure.

Have a preference for large noisy groups who behave like partying in their own backyards. Apparently not possible to control as it is in 'outside' area'? Respect? Values? Management?
Enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon. Cheese platter very average as compared to previous visits.
Lovely Boland surroundings a given blessing. Lawn needs to be cut - wet and uncomfortable to walk on.

The wine and food was just stunning, especially the sharing platter and nacho's!!! The service was just as great with a beautiful view to add on to our experience. Relaxed while my son played and enjoyed himself. We will be back again and again!! A must visit in Stellenbosch!!! Highly recommended just like their wines!! Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah just next level!!

We sat outside in the garden. Very cosy and yet isolated from the others. The service is excellent, the waiters have to travel quite a distance. The Parma ham with melon is fresh and tasty. The lentil salad is plentiful. With the wines, the scenery, the food, everything here is top notch. A small minus, burrata is mozzarella with cream inside, here the cream is missing.

We've had many visits to Peter Falke and it always delivers. Beautiful grounds, fantastic wine and delightful service. A lot of wine farms close 'early' in Stellenbosch, so Peter Falke is known for keeping the party going after 5pm with tastings and tapas still available. Definitely worth a visit, we'll keep on coming back! Thanks to Oscar for looking after us on our most recent visit - brilliant service :)

Were at several different wine tastings in Stellenbosch, but this was the best. Not as big and commercial as Ernie Els, but much more satisfying. Wines were so good that I'm going to try to buy them here in Sweden.

What a lovely experience. Reuben is such a professional and definitely made our visit worthwhile. The group definitely appreciated the setting. Range of 8 wines tasted were excellent and I just love the Cabernet sauvignon

We had a very relaxing Saturday lunch in this winery, eating cheese and a very nice French salad while tasting 6 different wines. The place is really special and you can take a nice walk in the property around the lake into the nature!
Very nice wine (Chardonnay super special!)
