You cannot ask for better: great organic food, a setting that cannot be beat and wonderful staff - the small but special menu has enough variety and the people make sure you have a great experience .... catch a sunset and admire the magnificent garden - you can make a check mark next to "GREAT DAY"

We felt welcome from the first second. We were waited for with a glass of sparkling wine and got a small tour of the estate. That’s how a great evening started. We took all 3 courses, not because they’re small but because it was all so delicious. It was Luke who looked after us, he helped us picking wine and learned us a few things about the estate. We really enjoyed our evening at Avondale, couldn’t think of anything that has room for improvement

Their organic approach to farming and their passion for what they do reflects the respect they have for nature and it truly shines through in their wines as well as their staff. On our arrival one of the staff members was already waiting for us with a delicious glass of their MCC in hand. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside and do a tasting with the picturesque Hottentots Holland mountain range in the background. The tasting consisted of the MCC we started with, whites, reds and a Blanc de noir. Some of their wines are also stored in clay Qvevri pots which is something out of the ordinary and very interesting. Next to the tasting gallery they also have a restaurant, however we only visited for a wine tasting. Their wines are on the pricier side, but worth it if you enjoy wine. Must visit for wine lovers.

Drawn by the setting, with beautiful views of the mountains surrounding Paarl, we visited Avondale for dinner and were completely bowled over by the incredible food on offer. The delicately prepared dishes that came out of the kitchen of the accomplished Chef Dale were sublime, and Kat and her team of friendly and knowledgeable waiters made for a highly pleasant evening. We were also so impressed with their wines and now have a bottle of their SAMSARA Syrah 2009 and ANIMA Chenin Blanc 2016 waiting to be enjoyed at home - their Muscat is also divine. FABER is by far one of the best - and most accessible (read: unpretentious) restaurants around. Absolutely fabulous!
