A very informative and beautiful visit. We had a friendly guide and reception, followed by a tour that truly gave us a clear understanding of Biblical and historical events related to the culture of the Bible. Would recommend it for anyone interested in history, culture and natural beauty.

We felt extremely priviledged to have visited this garden. Our privately booked tour guide Michael John Walmsley (a legend in himself) who had personally produced many of the historically accurate information boards and clay artefacts at this open air archeological museum, was very knowledgable and enthusiastic as he shared his passion for Historical Truth, painstakingly uncovered and discovered in over 100 archeological digs in Israel and Jordan. Our children (ages 9, 7 and 5), were excited to recognise Biblical characters and themes they had read about. As well as the beautiful and accurately reproduced mosaics, copied from those found in Israel, there were profound sculptures, relief sculptures, constructs and installations that really spoke to our and our children's hearts and so brought History to life! It made us long to go to Israel. I sincerely hope that funding can be found to complete the project to the excellent standard in which it has been begun.

Dear Juliet,
Our project is new to Tripadvisor, so I have just learnt how to respond to reviews. Thank you for your comments. I am extremely pleased to have Michael John on site with his open air archaeological site. It is wonderful to know, through the work of people like him, that the Bible narrative can be proven by the artefacts that are dug up from the ground after hundreds if not thousands of years! Thanks for visiting Salem Biblical Garden!

For our Unashamed year end we wanted to find a nice place to stay over. We approached Salem and they were immediately open to the idea for us to camp for the weekend - even though they never had groups. Boy, were we surprised and blessed by the weekend. Jack gave us the tour. I will definitely recommend that as well.

Hallo Bennie, yes you and your group were the first people to come with tents and spend two nights at Salem. It was a pleasure having you! The Windmeul Valley with its farmlands and vineyards is a great place to escape for a tented weekend. I am glad you enjoyed the guided tour through the Biblical Garden. Our main aim is to make the Bible come alive by seeing the exhibits and hearing the Bible story which they represent. I hope you will come again!

We came to Salem for the first time with MJ in 2016. We met up for a picnic and to walk in the gardens and to see what this place was all about!!!
Salem is very special!!! Its a place where u can go in with a heavy heart and leave renewed and refreshed. A place of healing..a place of restoration..a place of peace...a place where one can find Jesus, in the Bible told from the story of Adam to the Resurrection!!!

The world of the Bible reconstructed into a dozen paintings.
Our guide, Jacob, introduced us to the project of his parents who lived several years in Israel.
The setting is beautiful, between wild olive trees and fynbos.
Our guide shared his passion with us.
