It has been a while since I last visited the brewery and I was very impressed to see how they have grown. The tasting room has expanded to now include more seating inside as well as a small garden area, so a nice option to visit during summer or winter. The brewery now has a food truck and a big screen where they show certain sporting events. The garden outside has lawns where the kids can play safely and within view of the main seating area which means parents can also comfortably enjoy everything the Berg River Brewery has to offer. The entire group decided to do the full tasting which consisted of a Lager, Blonde Ale, Kristal Weiss, Pale Ale, Saison and Heller Bok. I really enjoyed the Saison and Pale Ale and ended up buying some Pale Ale to take home. While I was waiting for my friends to arrive I had a chat with one of the staff members. He was really passionate about the brewery and gave me a lot of background which I think makes you appreciate the beers even more. I am definitely making a plan to visit them in the summer again and maybe grab something to eat while enjoying their tasty beers.

5 of us took a tour of the Brewery on a chilly Friday morning 11 May. but were warmed by a cozy fire. Were taken on a comprehensive tour of the brewery and were thoroughly educated on how to make craft beer (easy peasy...). Had the tasting trays and each had different favourites but all were very palatable. We bought a variety to go which only lasted for half of the rest of the weekend. A definite must visit if in the Paarl / Wellington area.

After sampling the beer at our B&B accommodation, and loving it, we headed for Berg River Brewery. A very warm greeting and informative tasting session was held just for us in the brilliantly decorated tap room area of the brewery. We got to sample the four main brews plus a couple of the seasonal specials. The staff member conducting the tasting was informative and offered background regarding each brew, the type of hops and the rationale behind each different style of beer. We left with a take-away selection having enjoyed an informal, relaxed tasting of a fantastic product. For the more personal touch forget the bigger brewers at more tourist orientated locations in the area and come here instead.
A great venue with great beer and welcoming staff.

We found this place by complete accident one day while driving by and decided to check it out. It looks like a brewery from the outside, but we were pleased to discover that it is also open to the locals. Their tasting room is small and homely and the vibe is incredible. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they also offer food. We were treated to an explanation of the beers from the brewer himself, and got to enjoy all of them. My favourite was called the Mermaid, which had a lovely fruity taste and my husbands was the Weiss, which is also light in alcohol. They are hosting an Octoberfest soon, and have brewed a special beer just for the occasion. We'll definitely be there.

Not pretentious! Down to earth, beautiful views of paarl rock! Great service, yummy burgers! Oh and the beer is divine. My favourate is the light weiss beer (lemon hops) and the pale ale is a winner

The beer is great but the venue can definitely improve. I reckon if these guys sort out their venue the will have a very successful business.
For now-I will stop regularly to buy beer at the brewery, as their beer is good

Great artisan beers at Berg River Brewery. My favourite is the Kristal Weizz however the Helles Lager, Blonde Ale and the Pale ale are also worth trying.
Great little brewery on the banks of the Berg River in Paarl. Well worth a visit.

We dropped in to try their craft beers since it was on the way to our next event for the day. Very friendly staff; nice selection of very creative beers. Note: The brewery is in an industrial area, so you have to keep a sharp eye out for it, but GPS will locate it just fine.
