Did this pass in the rain. Quite a bit hair raising in a torrential downpour without knowing what to expect around each bend. I stayed close enough to another vehicle with local number plates hoping that they would be more familiar with the route and...More

On the day we traveled the clouds hung low. What a dramatic drive in and out of the clouds. What we loved the most was taking stops along the way to do some bird watching and were lucky to see a family of rock hoppers.

This is a must do spot when in the Karoo although if given a choice I would take the day tour so you can enjoy it more. Intense concentration required if driving it yourself and you don;t know what you are looking at. You cannot...More

Road from Prince Albert side was quite busy. Obviously gravel road and narrow at parts with sharp corners. They had a fire in that area some time prior to my visit, but it still was quite worth the drive. Beautiful views, some great places for...More

We did the pass up to the turn off to The Hell. (Gamkaskloof). The pass is fine up to that point. The damage is closer to Prince Albert and will take many months to repair.

The road is rough but it is good to drive and you can do it with a normal car. The view is amazing, take some time to stop often

That will not be a problem at all. Just take it easy if you are going down the mountain to The Hell.

Hi. Your car will be fine drive slowly and enjoy the view. Even though there were severe fires it still remains an impressive sight. Maybe it will have a few green patches by then. Enjoy.
