Though damaged through shortsighted tourism schemes in the 1960s, these caves are still worth a visit for their eerie dark tunnels and stunning limestone formations.

If you haven't seen other similar limestone formations, it would probably be impressive but I have visited some caves which are more engagingly presented. They explained that visitors preferred natural lighting but my experience in other caves is that coloured lighting can be used to...More

This is a stop that should not be missed if you are in the area of Oudshoorn. In addition, the the surrounding ostrch farms you get the benefit of seeing the beautiful rock formations inside the caves.

Is interesting to see, 2 different trips allow either those just wanting to see the caves or the ones adventurous enough to climb through to enjoy the experience.

We are thinking of coming to the caves in December we are at retiring age and wondered how difficult it is to get in the caves as in can we walk or do we have to climb/crawl? Many thanks on this . Kind regards Neil.

There are two tours to choose from. The basic tour is very accessible, but you need sensible footwear. The adventure tour is for fit agile, possibly experienced, cavers. It's a fantastic cave with excellent guide.
