its not really 2 stars, I would give 2,5.
very nice view.
terrible service:
we were seated in the courtyard, the menu was poor. we asked if we could have food from the other menu, which was denied.
then we asked to be seated in the other section (a huge amount of places available anyway!!!) which we could.
we were told to hurry up, cause the kitchen would close at 14:00
(but there were still other guests arriving and being served food after 15:00)
then everything went wrong.
we ordered a bottle of wine which was out of stock. the waiter didnt know.
ordered still water, got sparkling.
hubby ordered starter and main, I asked to get my starter and side with his main course, but then everything arrived at the same time.
Another waiter told us that our wine is out of stock, offered another one.
we agreed.
bottle of white wine arrived - lukewarm
instead of letting me try the lukewarm wine, he poured half a glass.
so we asked for a bucket of ice and got a bucket with 5 cm of ice from another table.
We asked for some ice to put into my 200 ml of warm wine (bottle over 400 Rand)
That took another 20 min.
the other guy realized that the bucket would not be helpful like it was and got us more ice.
my starter was really poor
3 extremly thin slices of beetroot, a teaspoon of apple, a tablespoon of mushrooms but really overpriced.
in between all that a third guy articed, who took away our wine cooler for no purpose at all.
finished this lunch with 2 espressi.
they showed up without sugar., so we asked for it.
waiter arrived with 2 sugar packs in his hands. 🤷🏼♀️
the staff needs training. and if guests get informed about it, everything would be fine.

I was part of a Kitchen Tea party 3 weeks ago. The position and setting is idyllic and the staff helpful, however the value of the picnic basket needs to be reconsidered. Very poor at R300 per basket for 2 people.!!

Never again! Although the view is spectacular, the experience is just not worth it.
We did the Wine tasting and sushi. The service was pretty poor, sushi was average. When my husband called the manager over to complain about the overcooked wontons, he told us they were meant to be like that. They were also not removed from the bill although we had sent them back.
The biggest shock of all was when I wandered over to the cellar, just a few steps away and discovered that the bottle of wine we ordered after the tasting , in the tasting room, had a 100% mark up on it. Normally wine ordered in the tasting room is at cellar prices!
You are ripping people off. Just unacceptable.

Booked for wine tasting for 5. Told table was being set up even though we were pre booked. 5 tumblers 2 wine glasses & not enough chairs🙄. We were seated with menu & no explanation of wine tasting or even a word of polite conversation( very unusual for S. A in the past 2 weeks all places I have been to have been great). 20mins later and people arriving after us have been served! but still no interaction from anyone we left!
felt sorry for staff as they looked like they were pleasant. Lady seating everyone obviously didn't want to be doing her job by her attitude I would have easily waited that time if while being seated she had spoken to us. no restaurant in S. A is as quick as u.k but usally they are very pleasent. We went else where were we had an amazing time & we brought lots of wine for our last week. Loads lots of places not far from noordhoek to try. In the past 8 hols in S.A never experienced this.

I paid R790 for two picnic baskets to feed 4 people. The food in the picnic basket was terrible, the fruit looked as though it had been prepped early that morning, the dip was overloaded with oil, the salad was sliced red cabbage with a few cherry tomatoes and cucumber. The best part about the picnic was the bread and already packaged cold meat. This was completely overpriced and terrible quality, great views but do not purchase a picnic basket!

4 of us went on Sunday 15th Feb for a picnic, on obtaining 2 baskets we found a spot, opened up to see what was provided, firstly only 1 set of cutlery in one basket and no Brownies in either so we returned and asked for these items. The food provided was very poor, , there was too many bits of food olives, feta cheese, pate, potato salad bread etc and not enough wholesome items to satisfy hungry adults, the most filling was the cheese selection which came with a couple of small packets of biscuits not enough to go with the amount of cheese.
We were very disappointed, the cost of the baskets for 2 people was very expensive against what was provided.

Dear Jackie
Our abject apologies that your picnic with us was less than idyllic. We have not had complaints about the quality and amount of food in our picnic baskets before - indeed our guests usually ask for take away bags. If you do however have suggestions regarding what you would like to see in our baskets we would welcome your input, and to make up for your disappointment we would also like to welcome you back for a cheese platter in our tasting room - please contact me at events@cape-point.com to make further arrangements.
warm regards
Lizanne

We only stopped by to do a wine tasting, but I am determined to come back to experience their lovely picnic lunch. The lawns are beautifully maintained and set around a pond with a stunning view looking down onto Noordhoek beach in the distance. The restaurant also had a fantastic vibe, and we will most certainly be back for more than just the wine.

The setting is surreal and the wine is tasty. I would suggest a bottle of the Chardonnay Brut champagne to make sure it feels especially festive. We had a picnic basket filled with delicious treats like chicken liver pate, different cheeses, a quince jelly, potato salad, chicken mayo salad and beautiful ciabattas. It's so casual and relaxing, you cannot help but have a good time. The service was a bit slow but so was the whole afternoon which is what you want I guess. A must-do!

Went here with my partner and her dad after he had heard good recommendations from his colleagues.
And WOW, what a fantastic place it is. The view is nothing short of breath-taking.
We ordered one pic-nic hamper which generously fed us 3 and also purchased a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Both food and wine were of a superb quality and very reasonably priced.
Beautiful lawn areas with benches to overlook the spectacular views. We had a lovely picnic on the bench then laid down our blankets and cushions (supplied) and chilled in the pleasant sunshine.
We will definitely try the restaurant on our next visit.
A definite must do for anyone visiting Cape Town.

My family and I are visiting your venue on Sunday.Do we need to pay the Sanpark entry fee?
Written September 27, 2017
Hello! Sorry we were out of the country so didn't see your question. Cape Point Vineyards is not at Cape Point (oddly?!) ... it's Noordhoek side ... so no Sanparks fee 😉
