Must visit

Lagoon is a must visit. Wonderful cruise ride. Ecstatic experience. Private speed boating is worth the ride right from lagoon in to the sea and back

We went out on canoes , and it looks like there were also plenty of tour boats . Basically a very pretty lagoon with a bunch of restaurants on the coast .

The whole area is gorgeous - around every corner is another outstanding view of the Indian ocean. If time permitted, we would have stayed at the Tsitsikamma Cottages within the park as they were extremely reasonably priced with great access to the walks.

The lagoon has a small shopping area, eating joints and a 90 minutes cruise safari in the lake. The lagoon and the adjoining area are beautiful but not anything out of the world. In the cruise there are food, drink and music. The boat has lower and upper decks with covered and open area in each. The ride becomes boring... More

Amazing place near Knysna water front . We stayed at Lagoona Grove next to lagoon which is self serving apartment facing lagoona. Great peaceful place to enjoy the nature and have bliss.

Knysna is largely a purpose built area full of restaurants and touristy shops. Best viewed as a decent base for seeing other arts of the Garden Route

We took a cruise on the John Benn. It was very disappointing, boring and a waste of time to say the least. Best avoided as it had nothing to offer for any age group. I found all others on the boat either go off to sleep or catch up on gossip.

There is something hard to explain about the colour of the landscape from the islands. There is a short bridge to access it- best by bicycle - but it gets a little chilly in the afternoon so plan to indulge in the watering holes in the area. There are some very active(loud) night spots. You can charter a nice boat... More

I recently took a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon on the John Benn. The boat takes over 90 people most of whom probably had a great time. However, for me, the trip was a bit long and some of the passengers a little noisy! . But I got a great view of the beautiful lagoon and the surrounds.
