We had a nice trip out on a calm, hot and sunny day. We saw a pod of bottle nose dolphins playing in the breakers and a couple of seals. Even without the wildlife it is nice to be out in the ocean. Our guide Matilda was informative.

Such fun with a fun crew. Sails up and out through the Heads for a very pleasant sail down the coast. Back inside the lagoon and a light finger buffet served on the deck with champagne. Because it was NYE, drinks were free. Great crew and lots of interaction and banter. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We took the 90 minute eco-marine tour and despite not seeing dolphins (nature wasn't on our side that day) it was a really fun tour as the sea was bumpy and the boat was piching up and down in the ocean. We were sat in the front so really felt the full effect of the sea. Loads of fun but not for the faint hearted or those that get sea sick. While there were no dolphins we did see seals and sea birds including Cape Gannets, We also got to admire the beauty of Knysna Heads and the coast line as the boat made its way out to sea. Great staff too!

We were in Knysna with a tour group and a number of us went on the whale watching tour. I felt we should have been warned properly about the fact that once out of Knysna Lagoon the sea was quite rough and the pitching and tossing in a small boat once we stopped to look for whales was extremely uncomfortable. A number of passengers were seasick - clearly not an unexpected occurrence given the number of buckets on board. A sympathetic pilot would have helped, rather than one who played the trip for thrills, smashing headlong into waves and taking deliberately tight turns. The passengers were a mature group so not by nature thrill seekers. At the end of the day, whale watching from Knysna involves chasing whales over a large section of the Indian Ocean. While we did see a whale, this was no better a sighting than ones readily available closer to the shore at this time of year. An expensive trip from which we gained little apart from great discomfort, and not one we could recommend.

Hi, So sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately like mother nature, the Indian ocean is just as unpredictable and sea conditions can change drastically from one moment to the next. Please contact us at info@oceanodyssey.co.za.
