This tour gave a fantastic insight into township life. Penny will take you by mini bus around the township and you will get to see many aspects of life in the township. On top of that you will find out what an amazingly kindhearted person Ella is when you visit her home. You will not regret taking this tour. It... More

Emzini Tours gave a wonderful Knysna township tour. They have started a non-profit that builds safe houses, has a soup kitchen, and a orphanage, all in the township. The owners of the company are the guides. They clearly know everyone in the township, keep a bucket of dog food on board to feed the strays in the township as they... More

With Ella and Penny we made a townshiptour in the township of Knysna. Ella and Penny do good workshop there with there home for children. We get a good impression of the life in a township. Thank you Ella and Penny for that!

It was very special to spend the morning with Penny and Ella through the local township. It had me in tears once or twice purely from their genuine personalities and the struggles Ella went through to get to where she is today. Its very eye opening and worth every cent.

Far from the media images of South Africa's squalid townships, this was an encouraging and hopeful impression. The work these ladies do, and the respect they get and deserve in the township is simply awesome. Ella was larger-than-life itself and so joyful and full of love for her township. I shall also never forget the sight of Penny chucking cups... More

Penny and Ella are fascinating people with a project, that is worth to be shown all over the world! Especially for our children (11 and 13) years old, it was a new experience, that definetly changed their view of the world - and to make new friends! they are still in contact with a girl, they met in the township.

My husband and I took this tour yesterday. Ella was our guide. She is one of the founders of the company plus she is also a resident of the township. Ella provided first-hand insights to life in the Knysna Township. She also touched on many events in her life that led her to her humanitarian endeavors. Take this tour--what you... More

This is a worthwhile tour for those who do not do one from Cape Town or Johannesburg. Penny, the owner arrived at our B&B to pick us up for our 2 PM tour. We were joined by Ella, Penny's partner who grew up in the township, and 4 other guests. The township we visited was just outside of Knysna. It... More

Ella and Penny, our guides on the Knysna township tour, gave us a very informative and entertaining tour of the township, showing us and telling us about the good als well as the bad things in the township. The fact that part of the money earned is used to help the children in the township, is a bonus.
