What a wonderful golf course set in fantastic surroundings. The course was perfectly manicured and the set up was superb. Recommended if you’re having a few rounds or more during your stay in the Cape. Seeing the Springbok on the fairway was an additional treat.

One off the best golf clubs and courses I have visited in South Africa. Reasonably priced with excellent bar and restaurant. Managed to join up with their senior group so managed a few games with them. Great club

People in the pro shop not too friendly. Advised us to play 1-9 as it was 'not too busy'. Reason was which he neglected to point out was that holes 1 & 2 have temporary greens which have not even been 'cut' yet. The kitchen seems to close at 5 as well so you cannot order any bar snacks. In fact it seems that they cannot get rid of you quickly enough. Word of advice - go and play Kleinmond. It is a lovely course where you are welcomed as an old friend!

Thank you for taking the time to review our golf course. We strive to provide a friendly welcome and are therefore disappointed to hear that your recent experience at Hermanus Golf Club was not up to par. Our extremely popular twilight special (9 holes at the reduced price of R100.00) becomes available after 4pm every afternoon or as soon as a nine opens up. Due to an outbreak of Anthracnose, a foliar disease, on some areas of our course, there are currently two temporary greens in place. The green fee collection personnel were instructed to advise golfers that there are two temporary greens currently in play, with a two-putt temporary local rule in place. Omitting to communicate this has been addressed. In addition, all our green fees have been reduced considerably during the recovery process to compensate for any inconvenience. There is signage, in respect of the temporary greens, posted at registration in the pro-shop as well as other strategic areas around the clubhouse. Our kitchen rarely closes before 17h30, staying open until 19h00 on competition days, four days a week. Biltong, peanuts and crisps are always on offer to purchase from our bar. We have addressed the unfriendly temperament you experienced at our Club and look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future to truly experience the Hermanus Golf Club as it should be.

What a nice course, really pretty. Pity the staff, especially lady in pro shop has such a terrible attitude!

great 27 hole golf course; nice ambience at a good old fashioned members club. whichever 18 holes are played there s a good test of golf for any standard of golfer. friendly and efficient staff. all the facilities you need including a decent selection of halfway house food. well managed. well manicured course - greens fine (8 1/2 on the stimp meter when we played which is just about right for a seaside, sometimes windy, course). more importantly all greens near enough the same speed. but etsting with humps and hollows on most.

There was nothing to dislike, the course was manicured and the views just breath-taking. Make sure you book a tee time on your next visit to Hermanus.

We’d payed for and booked both golf and buggy in advance through our agent. Without any voucher we were challenged that payment had not been made! They decided to sort it later and let us play. But if they want to see a voucher they must issue them to the agent and ask for it to be presented!
Then the buggy key we got was for a buggy that wasn’t there. By this time we were rushing for our tee time. No clear instructions on the buggy route to the first hole (or should we have been on 19? No-one said). No card given until we asked. No starter to check times or who was going out... no instructions on halfway stop.
Having said all that we loved the course. It was in good condition, challenging and all the holes were different. Scenery backdrop amazing despite the recent fires.
Nice bar/ restaurant area. This would have been 5* if not for the cack-handed admin and customer-handling.

You just have to look past the big names and you will find some golfing gems - top of the list is Hermanus Golf Club. The course is in pristine condition, the views sublime and the friendliness top of the pops. Than you for hosting our small group of golfers.

What a great overall experience. The golf course is really great and a good challenge. The course has 27 holes and you get to play 18 of the holes that the club decides you play. We played 10-27 which was great with a really nice layout and great condition. All the club staff were very friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great work

We were made very welcome even though the place was very busy, we had a snack before we set off and it was good, served promptly so we had no worries of making our tee time, just a pity the kitchen closes at 1700 as that is when we finished and we were ready for a good feed. Never mind that led us to the Burgundy in the village and we were treated there, I'll deal with that in another review.
Back to the golf.
We played the North course which is 19 to 27 front nine then 1 to 9 for the back nine. The pace of play was good . The course was in good condition, the greens were a little bumpy, where there were no bumps they were fairly true. They could have been faster but then that is a personal preference.
There were some really good holes, with a cunning lay out where you needed to play your tee shot to the correct position or risk a certain bogey.
Our four, two ladies two men, opinion was overall very enjoyable and we will play it again. I would recommend anyone who gets a chance to play Hermanus and you will not be disappointed.
