I'd never had South African wine before visiting. Oh man do they know how to make wine. I tried as many wines as I could and almost every one was amazing.

Place of historical old buildings and the Wine Museum, depicting wine-making over centuries and listing some of its foremost customers of the world's oldest continuing wine sales from Groot Constantia. Napoleon Bonaparte and Fredrich the Great already enjoyed these upmarket products.

A huge forested suburb in the shadow of Table Mountain. Known for it's wine farms (the original city area ones) & equestrian endeavours. Some of the nicest Historical Cape Dutch Hotels in South Africa are found here.

Beautiful views of all the Vineyards in the area. Taking an Uber from the city center is cheaply priced and reliable. Make sure to do chocolate tastings wherever you go!

The Constantia wine route is the best option of all the Cape Town routes. It is better than either Stellenbosch, Paarl or Franschhoek. It is compact, easily accessible and full of history and scenic beauty.

I love the Constantia Valley. There are several excellent wineries to visit and they all have restaurants including my favourite restaurant in Cape Town - Chef's Warehouse at Beau Constantia. And it's beautiful simply driving around exploring and taking in the views.
