My wife and I have lived in Cape Town for three years and have had many fabulous experiences with wine farms throughout the area. Rarely have we found so many delicious red wines as we did at High Constantia. We also appreciated our sommelier's knowledge as she participates directly in the growing, processing, and bottling of the wines, so the presentation of the wines was not scripted in any fashion. It was a quaint, informal experience. We were also tasting wines that were 7-13 years old, which is fairly rare. Although the wines seem pricey compared to the many inexpensive local options, you really do get a unique and incredibly tasty product here. We left with a bottle of the 2015 Cabernet Franc and 2009 Sebastiaan which we'll be saving (but not for too long) for a special occasion when we can share it with friends. My only recommendation, aside from encouraging that you visit, is that you bring some light snacks along, perhaps some bread, to help soak up some of the wine you've consumed as the pours are generous and you really won't want to spit any out.

Had an excellent wine tasting experience at High Constantia last week. The lady helping us with the tasting was very knowledgable and a great laugh as well. The owner was also floating about and we also had some good fun chatting to him about wine and rugby. When we told him we'd travelled for the URC final he gave us a bottle to mark the occasion. A wonderful gesture. Recommend that you go here for some excellent wines....and also the excellent people.

This is a small (14 hectares) winery that is not widely visited so we were the only ones there and our visit was a delight. The wife of the winemaker was our hostess and she expertly told us all about the wines we tasted while sitting on a peaceful patio at the back of the facility overlooking a pond. We enjoyed all the wines that we tasted and on our way out, we saw that their bottles are still bottled by hand - another indication of the craftsmanship that goes into their wines.

We have been to 6 wine locations Constanta and Franschhoek in 7 days, I would say this is lowest on the list, you walk in and they immediately charge you without knowing what you will get.

The family run vine yard provides a warm informal welcome, in a tranquil setting away from the madness of the tourist buses that seem to descend on to larger establishments.
Wine tasting takes place on a beautiful veranda over looking the gardens.
We could easily stay for 'days' drinking the great wine, especially the 'Cab Frank', pondering what to do next..... so that's what we did.
We couldn't fit enough wine in our suit case, can't wait to go back and buy some more.

High Constantia must be the smallest wine farm in Constantia. When you arrive, it is a real, working farm. The wine tasting was informative but informal. Great wines!

This is a "must do" stop in the Constantia valley. Great selection of wines - especially the cabernet franc.

Hidden away en route to Groot Constantia, this tiny winery has great wines. The reds and cap classique are the highlights of the range. Informal and relaxed tasting. It is a 'must visit' winery.

Yummy wine although I'll have to save some moola to afford them. Worth saving for though. Brilliant wine ambassador. Excellent situation
