I've been using these float tanks for years. The experience, facilities and staff are great. Who would like this? - Anyone looking to unwind from a busy day or high-stress lifestyle - People interested in meditation and the exploration of consciousness - Someone who wants to experience something unique The experience: Your first step is booking a time slot and deciding on the duration of your float. I've done 30 mins, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours and an overnight (8 hour) float. For beginners, I'd recommend 30m to 1hr. Ease into it, then definitely go for longer - that's where the real magic is. Once you arrive, the staff will welcome you, give you a quick tour, show you the float room (there are two, one has built-in speakers to play music if you want) and explain the process. When you're ready, the room is yours. You have access to your own (private and secure) float room with a shower, toilet, sink and plenty of extra towels. The tank itself is functional - a little on the small side, and not 100% sound proof, but does the job just fine. That said, the ear plugs provided take care of the odd noise. Once you've showered, you hop in the tank and off you go! With ear plugs in, the environment is silent, pitch black and perfectly heated to body temperature so you can't tell the difference between the water and the air. And, of course, you are floating! Personal notes: Each time was memorable, restorative and helpful. With absolutely no external distractions, your mind is free to focus inward. Time melts away. I either practice a "no thought" meditation or think through some problem, plan or creative idea. But you really are free to explore anything you want in there! Ultimately, I see the experience as an incredibly powerful tool to study and connect with a fundamental component of your human OS. I like to imagine that when Yoda sent Luke Skywalker into that swampy black cave, what he found in there was a float tank. If all this tickles your fancy, I couldn't recommend the Ubuntu Wellness Centre more.

On holiday in Cape Town in 2019 & 2020 I had a number of sport/deep tissue massages by Ian. Best I've ever had and his advice about posture following my treatments in 2019 has resulted in lifestyle changes which have hugely benefited my well-being. Ian has a very professional approach and is confidence inspiring. A totally five star experience.

Great massage with same-day booking. Very professional, friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Just the thing we needed after several days hiking and exploring the city and area.

We were looking for a place to get massage that could accommodate 6 guys. We called up Ubuntu and after speaking to Lovewell we made an appointment. From the warm welcome upon walking in, to Ian’s introducing to, and explanation about the beautiful spirit tree in the backyard, we felt right at home. We each got a package that included a 60 minute float and a 60 minute massage. Both experiences were wonderful. The soak put us each so much at ease and then the massage worked out all the kinks we had gathered over the week of hiking. I can’t wait to return to this wonderful spa.
