Seemed more like a hostel than a hotel. The food could have been better and we are not fussy eaters! Our guide was brilliant and was very knowledgeable. We saw plenty of lions, zebra, giraffe, rhino, hippo and elephants. It has a good sized pool in a lovely setting.

Aquila is a pretty nice place to stay, accommodation is great and the whole area is very pretty. The actual safari wasn't amazing, you will see the big 5 but they are in an enclosed area and the lions are in an even more enclosed area. Our guide Trevor was awesome tho, and if you get a chance- the horse... More

Excellent Game Reserve to see the Big Five and well looked after for breakfast and lunch with a "drink" break during the tour. The ranger was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The only downside....we were not collected from our house and had to drive the 2 hours there and back!!!!!! No apologies and took a while for my monies to be... More

Great two days of safari fun, can't wait to go again in a couple of years hopefully. The atmosphere was so relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for a great once in a lifetime dream come true.

Set in amazing surroundings and great journey to get there but not quite a Safari. The lodge accommodation was pleasant. The food was buffet style for all meals with limited selection. The Spa is new and the best place to pass the heat of the day with excellent massage. The biggest disappointment was the Safari part of the trip. Although... More

We saw more animals by the side of the road on the 3 hour drive to get there than we did in the 'game reserve'. We were promised the big 5, we saw 2. No big cats, because they were 'in the mountains sleeping'. We met other people who had been and also had seen no big cats and practically... More

We were a group of 6 went there few days ago and it's nothing like a safari that we thought about there were very few animals that you can count on your fingers and they were fed by the zoo keepers . If you are planning to do the wild life jungle safari thend this is not the place for... More

Highly recommend this lodge and safari for families travelling with young and older children. It was a tremendous experience from the morning safari, to the afternoon and evening safaris too (you can never do too many), then further enhanced by the star safari at night. We left with big smiles and warm hearts after our lovely encounters with the elephants,... More

I was excited to finally go on a Safari Tour in the Motherland. Based on the reviews, I was really excited to experience this tour at this game reserve but to my disbelief, I was quite disappointed. I will explain in detail below. The staff was really nice and helpful. This I am thankful for. We arrived nearly 2 hours... More
