Spectacular views. Food served was incredible. Staff friendly. Animals were beautiful, seemed content and natural. Yannick the guide was amazing. Could tell he cared about the animals and was very knowledgeable.

Ok so I went to Cape Town in the winter and naturally it was cold when we got to the reserve- the staff gave us warm blankets and a hot breakfast which made up for the early start as this reserve is about two hours drive from Cape Town... Out of our one week stay in cape town, I only regret this day wasted in the large zoo of Aquila. We went in the afternoon session and the weather was a bit windy so we almost saw no animals, the driver and the guide were doing their best to entertain us instead but we barely spotted a few. Predators... More

i normally rate a company that offers safaris on a few things, firstly who answers the calls or replies to emails - from the beginning there conduct was professional and friendly - thanks to Tanya Lubbe. The driver was on time and courteous and soon we were on our way to Aquila. on arrival we got welcome drinks, option of... More

The accommodation is over priced The food here is pretty good. The place setup is also good. The wildlife is good only if you've not seen the animals as it looks more of an open zoo spread across a larger area. You don't get a chance to see the wild animals from upclose. I would rather suggest the lion's park... More

Aquila is a 10 000ha conservancy situated in the Karoo, our animals roam freely in the reserve, so we can therefore not guarantee that guests will be able to see all the animals nor can we guarantee how close the rangers are able to get to the animals, while still maintaining the safety of the animals as well as the... Stayed overnight with our two kids in the luxury family cottages. Paying just under R 8000 for the one night we were expecting luxurious accommodations and 5 star cuisine. We received instead very mediocre accommodations, had to ask for the blankets, hot water bottles and hair dryer which was supposed to be in our room. No bottled water provided and... More

If you are short on time this is a great place to see the big 5. Breakfast and lunch included and it was good quality and plentiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. We hired a car and drove there, took 1hr 50 mins. No map needed, just a straight rd with beautiful scenery. Great value for money.

This is a great option if you have a limited amount of time. This is not a safari but you will see most/all of the big animals. This game reserve is more of an animal sanctuary and some of the animals were actually rescued from harsh conditions so could never return to the wild. Our guide, Abreal, was terrific- he... More
