If you are into long walks on the beach, then this is the one for you! Being Cape Town it's usually windy, but the sunsets on this beach makes you forget all about the wind. Take your picnic basket and camera, that's all you need.

Bloubergstrand definitely has one of the best views of Table Mountain. In summer this is a lovely beach with a great seafront vibe. Nice restaurants too.

Bloubergstrand is without doubt the best place from which to view and photograph Table Mountain. There is always parking available.

For us, Kalk Bay was a days outing. We parked near the station and walked towards the harbour where there are several eating establishments from which to choose. We are fortunate enough to see the clouds rolling over the mountain and down over Kalk Bay, then meeting up with the black cloud floating in from the sea. Spectacular. Walking back... More

Freezing water, long firm easy-walking beaches, and occasionally little wind, with wonderful views towards Table Mountain and the City, make this a great beach for long walks heading south. Unfortunately on the north-bound walk you have to look more at the hideous beach-front apartment monstrosities that pass for architecture on this strip!

We spent an enjoyable few hours here sitting on the sands and paddling in the chilly sea. Views are lovely and Cape Town looks great from this angle. Ice creams from Milky Lane. Would recommend although I understand it can be windy

Beautiful view of Table mountain, Robbin island and Table bay on a clear and wind free day. Safe environment, clean beach wonderful for a walk with friends and dogs. Parked at Edon on the bay, a safe parking area and walked towards Melkbos. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants to enjoy a refreshment after the walk.

Did the swim from Robin Island to Blouberg (7.6 km). Came in at Big Bay. What a site. Life guard club well run by Derick and a lot of restaurants to choose from. Beach clean and always pleasant to swim on. Rocks 800m out protect the beach.

Blouberg is where you will get that perfect, spectacular Table Mountain / Table Bay 'chocolate box' photo, which includes Lions Head, Devil's Peak and Signal Hill. The perfect photo on a clear day with blue skies, or with the tablecloth of clouds, famously draping itself over the mountain. It can get very windy in Blouberg, so take something warm, just...
