This is a wonderful place to see the sunrise or set.
Great for photographers to take a picture of Cape Town and Robben Island
There are lots of kite surfers - the place can be windy.
There is a wonderful promenade that you can walk on or alternatively you can walk on the beach.
We walked in the morning from the fuel station (near KFC) down to the end of the promenade and found a lovely coffee stop, which we did take away, followed by a breakfast place called 'Ons Se Huisie.' Breakfast was under R50 / €3
If you are based /located in or near Cape Town City Central Area, then rather stay overnight in blouberg and experience the sunrise and sunset.
The traffic into and out of blouberg in the morning and afternoon is horrendous - and you can spend an hour or more just sitting in traffic.

This beach is awesome, beach walks are must if in the area, the views are to die for. Pick a day when the wind is not blowing a hooley otherwise its like a sandblast. Kite surfers paradise when time is right. Be prepared for the cold Atlantic the water is very chilly, the brave do go in for a dip though.
If you do it Enjoy.

I love visiting this beach as it brings back very fond memories of my youth. Love walking along the beach in the mornings with friends or family members and definitely enjoy the spectacular views of the ocean and Table Mountain. Also a great area to have a picnic but be warned it does get rather windy so if not a picnic outside on the beach then go to one of the many restaurants, cafes or shops in the surrounding the area. It does cater for all cheap and cheerful or break the budget you will definitely find a place to relax and enjoy the view.

beautiful beach, a calm day great sky, and a breathtaking view of the mountain, weather is however unpredictable so pick the days you want to explore. you can walk a good 5km or more in either direction and still have a stunning view. Breaking for an icecream at the Milkylane, coffee at M&B or a light snack just off the beach makes for a great day out...

Here's your answer for a relaxing outing. You can drive along, walk the promenade or the beach or just park your car right next to the beach facing the ocean and the beautiful view of Table Mountain, Cape Town and Robin Island while watching the hordes of colorful Kite Surfers, Paddle Boarders and Surfers. Plenty of eateries around.

You can't top this view, no matter where you stay in Cape Town. What a magnificent silhouette of Table Mountain- all the time. The area is clean and people spend their days jogging and walking, which mean they feel relatively safe.

This beach has spectacular views of Table Mountain and the coast line. There is always something happening like kite surfing, surfers, families enjoying a day at the beach, people out for a run or just chilling on the beach. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and the famous Blue Peter Hotel where you can chill with excellent views of the beach. It is a great place for family outings or group events.

More of the same from one of the most pretty city districts in the world, in my opinion! Cape Town Central is idyllic and absolutely beautiful, in terms of views and panoramas. This photo is not in any way touched up! Go! Look! See!

This place offers one of the best views of Cape Town and Table Mountain in the Cape Town area. The beach is also beautiful and usually pretty deserted. Be warned though on a windy day you end up being sand blasted!

The beach has lovely white sand with spectacular views of Table Mountain. This is the Atlantic side thus water is a little on the cold side.

Hi, anywhere from Sunset Beach to Bloubergstrand is great to stay. There's lots of AirB&B's and guesthouses or kitehouses in the area. Look at West Beach and Eden on the Bay as well. The my City Bus service operates all along these areas to Cape Town and the Waterfront. Easy for you to travel and go shopping. Around Marine Circle and Blouberg Road you will find nice pubs and restaurants like Yo Goodness, News Café, Carlucci's and Jerry's Burger bar.

I’m an amateur photographer, is it safe to go early morning and during sunset when there’s no crowd?

How far is this beach from the city centre? also, is it accessible by public buses after sunset?

It's possible to use MyCiti bus, but probably better to rent a car. More convenient and safer. Public transport other than MyCiti not convenient, safe or reliable unless you are a local. Uber taxi is very reliable for travelling in and around the Cape Peninsula. Also consider the Hop on Hop off busses for tourists. Two interesting routes. Both accessible from city centre.
