Glen Carlou's custom-designed cellar features an open-plan inner arena where visitors have the opportunity to gain insight into the vintner's art. To delight the eye, our attractive, wood-beamed tasting room offers panoramic views of the Paarl Valley and the Drakenstein Mountains in the distance. To reward the palate, a variety of memorable wines can be savoured. Visit us soon!

My husband and I visited the farm on Saturday the 14th amazing farm with a breathtaking view, we were actually there for wine tasting we decided that we’ll also do lunch there the lady that was doing our wine tasting was not informative at all the only thing I remember is the brut which she didn’t explain told us about the cultivar and left, the wines are exceptional but the educator didn’t care at all in educating us about the wines. I’m also a Wine educator I’ve got a feeling that she just looked at us and assumed that we know nothing about wine all we wanted was good service which we didn’t get.the educator next to our table was taking her guests through the wines she explained everything thoroughly and I was expecting that from our educator but she was not interested,we’ve had really good wines but I’ll never come back.

Absolutely lovely lunch and wine tasting on a perfect day. We were celebrating an anniversary and a birthday and the whole staff took great care of us. Don’t miss the blue cheese soufflé! The wines were excellent and we can’t wait to obtain some here in the US. After lunch and wine tasting, a stroll through their art gallery is a pleasant option. This is a perfect spot to stop in the Winelands. I highly recommend getting a reservation and trust you will enjoy the personal service, delicious food and wonderful wines. Thank you so much Johan!

We know the wine from Switzerland and are big fans therefore we decided to visit the estate. The sommelier was super friendly and very informative! He gave us a little tour and showed us the wine cellar and we also did a wine tasting with him. The wines are extremely good! They also have an amazing art gallery at the estate which one can visit free of charge. We highly recommend this estate!

Very good wine tasting experience with pleasant wines and friendly informative staff. Great views over the vineyards.
We wanted to stay for lunch but unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked. All the food we saw looked very well presented so its on the list of places to revisit but this time with a reservation for a table.

Worst meal ever
The amuse bouche was very strange, not hot and not cold, probably warmed up in the kitchen and then forgotten to serve.
They also forgot to use the blender as most of the soup was big pieces.
Really horrible.
Starter fried squid came white to the table, not golden fried, and was tasteless.
Main courses pulled pork burger and line fish both inedible.
Pork burger was very very salt, the fish incredibly dry.
I must say, the service was incredible.
We didn’t bother about dessert anymore.
I will never return.
The reason for giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the staff was really great.

The tasting centre here is well-appointed and I learned so much about wine I was blown away, this winery is on a hill facing north with a view of the valley below✓ I've been looking for this wine at my bottle store every time since I visited😁

Location and quality experience. Excellent food, wine, service, ambience and great value for money. Line fish kingklip fresh, beautifully cooked and ample portion. Originally put off by Trip Advisor review which indicated that it was expensive and miniscule portions. This was totally unfounded based on our experience.

The beat ever Thabiso is the best waiter ever he understands customer service and was just the best , Bronwin Adam's is just the best. He makes customers feel welcome and also provides the best service. I would definitely come back to this wine estate. They are just the best.

We usually drive past this estate on our way to Franschhoek.
This time decided we decided to pay the estate a visit.
The views from the deck are magnificent. We ordered the tomato soup with goat cheese croquette as a starter and the lamb shoulder for mains. High quality food beautifullt presented. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

On an overcast, rainy and windy Cape Town morning we were on our way to Franschoek from the Klapmuts Road side and we decided to make an unplanned stop at Glen Carlou. Besides the bad weather there were also a power outage in the area but we were met by friendly staff and they made our short stay and quick wine tasting very memorable. Would definitely go back to enjoy the view and something to eat.

Thank you for your enquiry. Our wine tastings can take as long or as short as you want them. I would suggest a minimum of 30 minutes to sit and enjoy the wines and the view. You can however send up to an hour just enjoying the wines. You may wish to stay for lunch afterwards in our lovely restaurant. Hope to see you soon. Georgie
