Table Mountain was closed due to high winds so we decided to go to Lion's Head. Amazing views across sea point and over the sea, but parking and getting back down is a nightmare. Go when it is quieter first thing in the morning.

A few things that you have to know before going up. Lions head has amazing 360° views over the city, it's relatively easy to hike up within 1 hour and it's easy to get to. All of this unfortunately comes with a negative. Many people!...More

A must do when visiting Cape Town. The hike up is quite steep but only takes about an hour. The end is super fun with ladders and chains and eventually crawling over rocks and stuff, really cool! Once you reach the top you're so proud...More

A good time to come here is near sundown, lovely views over the area. It could do with a few benches to sit on and enjoy the views however

Lion's Head is a great hike, taking the average person about two hours. It starts out on a path/road, but then you'll be climbing over rocks and boulders. The final stretch to the summit is a lot of scrambling over rocks, but the views are...More

We went for a good old hike! It was a hot day so glad we took water. Such amazing views and a good way to deal with a hangover

I’ve done this a couple of times and really enjoy the climb. It’s good to go up early for sunrise or mid morning. If you go for sunset, be sure to have torches to get back down. It’s an easy climb, but touch and go...More

The lion's head view from the top is what makes it special. although I think there is no big difference comparing to the top of the table mountain.

Toward the end, it can get very challenging for the little ones. However you can hike up and have a great view even before it gets too steep. If your kid likes walking and some “adventure”, I saw quite a few little ones... More
