Next time we will know the logistics better. We walked all the way from the city center to Noon Gun and further to Signal Hill and further towards Lion's Head and then down to the city. Next time we are probably going to take a taxi to the area at the base of the Lion's Head so we can simply... More

I would hands down recommend doing this hike over hiking up table mountain. The entire climb up the mountain you have amazing views of table mountain as well as the coast, and the city. The view from the top is simply breathtaking! Hike is good for people of all ages and abilities. It is not too strenuous unless do choose... More

Get up early and head over to Lion's Head. The hike begins with a slowly curving path that circumambulates this downtown landmark. Then it starts to climb in earnest, until you are going up ladders and grabbing onto hand holds to scale a rock face. You end up after about an hour on top of the rock, looking at the... More

I went early in the morning with my local friend to hike this place, it took like an hour and a half or two but it was totally worth it. Incredible feeling to get on top of it, fresh air and amazing view of the beautiful Cape Town.

Not easy. But doable for most! There are some ladders involved to get all the way to the top. If you go for the sunrise or sunset give yourself plenty of time to make it up at your own pace. An hour and a half seems reasonable.

Three of us hiked up lions head for sunrise. The views were lovely, but the route is more dangerous than we anticipated, so a torch is a definite must, and a head torch even better for when the path turns from horizontal to vertical! The view from the top was stunning and we even got to see a group of... More

This was not as spectacular as Table Mountain but totally worth it. Lion Head dominates the skies of Capetown and has stunning views of the beach and ocean from up there. You even have a nice view of Table Mountain. Beautiful mountain that accentuates the beauties of Capetown.

Great hike for the not-so-keen on hiking.... like me :) Takes about an hour to hour-&-half up depending on how often you stop along the way to enjoy the views. Take your own supply of cold water and a towel to protect you against the heat. Best time to hike is before sunrise..... but be vigilant. Although I've never been... More
