The view from the top is worth the climb

Not the easiest of walks/climbs, but worth it when you get to the top! A view that is breath taking literally... after all the climbing.

Always busy, so can easily be done on your own. Their are hikers constantly trekking up no matter the time. Even at night especially at full moon, head lamps and torches can be seen all along the route. Mornings can be very busy especial on weekends when the parking will be full. Must be one of the busiest peaks in... More

A must hike when you visit Cape Town. Be correctly prepared before you set off as the weather can change. Make sure you wear good shoes. If you are afraid of the ladders you can walk the route however there is a final scramble at the top which could be tricky if you are not too able but you will... More

A view without equal in my humble opinion. Lion's Head is a rocky peak 669m high overlooking the City of Cape Town with views down the Twelve Apostles, Clifton, Camps Bay, Bantry Bay and Sea Point and of course the Cape Town Stadium. It is crossed with various walking and trail running paths. Close by on Signal Hill you can... More

Great hike. Not too difficult. Beautiful view of Cape Town from the top. At full moon you can hike up absolutely amazing.

Hiking up Lion's head was the first real hike i've taken. Many people told us it would be easy..... Halfway through the mountain the hike got extremely difficult. I'm happy to have made it off. Overall, it was a solid feeling of accomplishment but is very difficult for a beginner.

If you are in Cape Town you have to climb here for the sunset. Maybe it is not for everyone, because there's a couple of steps where you need to be carefull, but if you are in a common shape just do it! The view is amazing and if you are brave enough to step in an isolated rock you... More

Many people go to Table Mountain in Cape Town but not Lion's Head. In my opinion Lion's Head is a nicer and more fun hike than Table Mountain. So don't miss it.
