These mountains are amazing and well worth going to view (although you can see them from a lot of places in Cape Town). I would advise going to Camps Bay and looking back from the beach.

The twelve apostles incorrectly names as there is about 15 are well worth the effort as the back of table mountain falling down to the sea

There is access, but I would not recommend the trip as it is quite strenuous

Can't comment on shuttle options, but there are taxis and busses that can get you to the Waterfront and Table Mountain.
