The Southern Suburbs of Cape Town probably has the distinction of being an area with a plethora of things to do and see. From Gardens such as the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens to the Arderne Gardens in Claremont which is very popular for weddings, etc. to Zand Vlei, Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, Simon's Town and Cape Point. It also has a range... More

We have lived here for 20 years and it is the best area for raising a family and you have the advantage of having everything of the best at your doorstep, the best schools, so much natural beauty with both the mountains and the sea right near all the tourist activities but in a safe environment and numerous outdoor activities... The perfect place to brunch, not a great Friday night party. The quality of food and particularly brunch options is vast!

The Southern suburbs of Cape Town includes Rondebosch, Newlands, Claremont, Wynberg, Ottery, Constantia, Bishopscourt and offer many gems i.e. the Kirstenbosch Gardens, Newlands forest, Constantia neck, Constantia wine farms, etc. Cavendish Square, a popular shopping centre is situated in Claremont; several lovely restaurants are in Newlands, Wynberg and Claremont. You need a vehicle or you can hop on the Red... More

It's hard to review the place where you've grown up... it'll always be special to me, whenever I visit. It's nice to see that some things will never change.

Southern Suburbs is a great area to stay as it's close to Cape Town and also the Winelands. Newlands village has some excellent restaurants and coffee shops. Cavendish Square is close by for those who like shopping.

The Southern Suburbs of Cape Town are easy to enjoy. They're safe but do need a bit of driving to enjoy. Heart of the place is Newlands...brewery, Rugby, Cricket, Cavendish shopping and lots of small coffee shops and restaurants. It's a nice neighbourhood. Moving further afield there's Rondebosch...but nothing much going on there...and Bishopscourt and Constantia. Bishopscourt is the home... More

My favourite areas in the south is Newlands and Rondebosch. I love the old buildings and giant trees. Being only 7km from the CBD, Rondebosch gives off a relaxing vibe yet is close to the city. Known for UCT and fantastic schools. Property very expensive and sought after.
