Gorgeous beach, with lovely fynbos trail to get there. I wouldn't recommend going alone, especially as a woman, I felt quite unsafe. Was hoping for a safe naturist space, but there were a couple of lurkers/creeps. One man was watching me from the rocks, and followed me when I got up and moved to another spot to escape him

A lovely sandy white beach with crystal clear water and massive boulders stretching into the ocean at various points. The beach was very busy when we visited but was clean and everybody was friendly. I would not advise it for single woman because there where people on the hiking trail to the beach and sometimes walking up and down the beach that looked like they might be up to no good. We enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in the nude and the locals freely shared their knowledge about the area and other nice destinations to visit. I for one will definitely go back and spend more time on Sandy Bay

My wife and I visited SB in March this year. We were held up by a knife wielding young man and robbed. The police caught him 2 days later, but we are hesitant to go there again. Can anyone inform us whether robbers are still active in the area. It is a beautiful beach and we would not like to be intimidated by one incident.

This is one of the best unspoilt beaches to visit, especially if you are into nudism. Why wear clothes on the beach when you you can be nude? Infact, once you enjoy the exhilarating experience of being nude on the beach, you will probably never want to go to a clothed beach again.
The sand is soft and pure white. The wind can be strong, so choose your visit carefully. The walk to the beach is rather quick and not heavy going from the car park. Take plenty of water and food to eat. There are no shops or vendors near the beach.
l highly recommend a vist to Sandy Bay. It is one of the best "free" attractions in Cape Town.

Well if you up to it to walk almost 2km to take your pants off, I suppose its worth it. The beach is lovely and tranquil, but please go prepared. There are no vendors so you need to pack your own drinks and food. Oh and remember the sunblock for that gentle areas as its a long way back.

Have been in Cape Town the last 8 days and frequented sandy back 4 times! Was the best experience and escape from the crowds at camps bay, plus with the added liberation of being in the buff. The walk although long, seems to no longer matter once you absorb the spectacular views and environment. It takes about 10-15mins walk and then you will reach the beautiful white sandy beach. The first section (on the rocks) is mainly male crowd and 'gay' you then have the main white beach with a mixed crowd, there is then the very end of this beach which is the main 'gay' crowd. This was quite fun and very free and open mixed crowd, young to older. Just be aware of the bushes at this far end, it is a gay crushing area, and don't wonder into the bushes, there maybe a shock or two. Otherwise it's a gorgeous place and quieter than the others, with the benefit of an all over tan. Be sure to stock up on water and snacks as there is only one vendor at the entry to the path, there is nothing else there. Pack sunblock and an umbrella if you have one otherwise keep lathering the SPF

Sure, this is a nudist beach, but the beach is beautiful. Quiet, secluded, with powder white sandy beach. Great place to escape for some peace and quiet.

If you into nudity, enjoy. Nice large beach, bit of a walk to get there which keeps it "private", icy crystal clear water. There are no vendors, take your own water etc, and dont forget the sun tan lotion...

Great beautiful gay nude beach. The water is clean and clear and the sand soft and warm. I bit of a walk but truly beautiful and easy.
Felt safe and had no trouble. Saw whales.
There are snacks and drinks available in the parking lot.
