Visited the township with a local tour guide. Viewed the memorial in the centre dedicated to those who lost their lives. Good to see things like the local butcher, informal settlements etc

Langa township is an interesting place if you want to learn about the history of apartheid movement in South Africa. Visiting this township will help you understand how this people ended up here in Langa township. It's a walking tour, so prepare to walk and meet locals who live in extreme poverty.

We took the Walk to Freedom day tour which took us into Langa Township. Zingy our guide was from this township and it included a stop into one of the dwelling and at a church during mass. Makes all our troubles in the US seem so irrelevant and made me feel how fortunate I am. My kids were also humbled... More

If you ever find yourself in Cape Town I would highly recommend going on a Langa Township Tour. At first I was hesitant about going on the tour (I was worried about objectifying the people living in the townships) but I was pleasantly surprised by how raw and unique the experience was. Moreover, it seemed like the people actually wanted... More

Our wonderful guide Andy of Inkulekule Tours provided an extraordinary view of all aspects of Langa. You would be wise to first spend some time at both the District 6 and Slave Lodge museums for historical insight. We saw houses they refer to as the "Beverly Hills" of the Township, newly built lovely apartment complexes, renovated hostel, the poorest unrenovated... More

I loved the very well spoken tour guide/driver, he was very entertaining. District 6 museum is small but it depicts clearly the struggle and the tough eviction of the District 6 inhabitants. Panga township was informative, but I would have loved more interaction with the people and a bit more of the informal settlement

Initially I was not sure if I should go to this. But after the visit and listening to my kids I realized how important some of these sites are to understand South African recent past and culture. Without a mix of sites like this, one would have a rosy picture of South African cities or wild. This site helped us... More

We took a walking tour of Langa with Mike. He was informed, informative, respectful, challenging (in a good way), kind, and so much more. He gave us (me and my adult daughter) a clear sense of the hope and despair and real lives in Langa. As others have already said in their review: GO! (by the way, Trip Advisor forces... More

The people who here have such deplorable conditions to live in. But they have so much spirit and are anxious to show how they help each other through education. I left not knowing how to feel. They have pride in what they manage to do.
