It is really unfortunate to see the decline of Cape Town city and this Mall is unfortunately part of that decline. This Mall is an outdoor Mall which has regular shops and a flea market. Except for one stall which was managed by a kind man from Zimbabwe, all of the stalls stock curios from North Africa rather than South Africa. The gentleman from Zimbabwe was a lovely guy and also made curios from South Africa. This Mall is nicer than Green Market Square which is dreadful, but it depends on what you are looking for.

In terms of walking around, the main issue is that the area has too many vagrants which are intimidating. Please be mindful of politely spoken vagrants asking if they can walk with you to an ATM to draw money as it is a setup.

As the review of 16 Dec 2023 says, this Mall is also an area where handbag and jewelry snatching takes place, so do take care.

I would not visit again due to safety concerns.

Had my cell phone lifted from my pocket by some young kid while strolling through St. George’s mall. He was in my face trying to sell me a hoodie with one hand while the other hand worked my pocket. Luckily my wife was a few steps behind me and saw him pull the phone and grabbed it back from him. Would not trust walking through this area again.

Awful place. You're constantly harassed by unscrupulous people who don't take no for an answer. The security (CID?) are not very helpful either. I don't recommend visiting st. George's Mall.

An easy way to get from one side of the city to another as it is mainly a pedestrian mall with fine shops selling goods and services. St Georges Mall use to be a city street running parallel with Adderley street, but as big business moved to new parts of the city it became more tourist friendly with a myriad of sidewalk cafes. You can even visit the tourist guide offices here. Zetlers Jewelry is a place to by both traditional and local products. Mr Zetler has been in st Georges street for a few decades now and advises tourists about diamonds .

I didn't think about St Georges Mall as a shopping place, more like a nice street with some interesting buildings. Our hotel was on one corner so we have walked few times through. We have also found a piece of the Berlin Wall here...not sure why it's there.

Once you have left the Church Street Antique Market, continue down Church Street then take the second left and you are in St. Georges Mall. You can wonder down this pedestrian tree lined mall all the way down to the Foreshore. The mall is a vibrant shopping area consisting of shops, banks, jewellery stores, restaurants, coffee shops and individual traders. Here you can find almost anything you need. Agreat shopping experience

This is a collection of stalls holding all tourist materials. We didn't look at prices as materials were not level of ordinary at best. The stalls cover a one block wide by four block long mall area between buildings.
