I have always wanted to visit Robben island finally got there and it didn’t disappoint. I was lucky I hadn’t booked but it wasn’t peak season so managed to get a ticket on the day. The boat ride is a trip in itself. On arrival...More
The trip to Robben Island by boat is itself a wonderful journey and the tour that welcomes you on the other side is informative and interesting. Once on the bus, a guide and driver point out the major areas of interest and then drop you...More
High speed catamaran brings guests to the pier of Robben Island in approx 30 minutes.
Then "proceed to the bus" that makes a small tour to the southern tip with a bright view on Table Mountain and the town.

Get your tix for this online as it often sells out. If the weather is inclement, your ferry will be cancelled. It's an awesome trip out there and well worth the visit. You will have tears in your eyes as the guides show you the...More
We had a fantastic visit and was humbled by the humanity and kindness of the tour guide inside the prision. He had been a prisoner for seven years in that prison himself. A wonderfull narrator he was too.

With two ferry trips you don’t have so long on the Island - they put you on a bus and take you around some of the Island before you see Mandelas cell, then a talk from an ex-con. If you tried to leave early - say before the prison visit- you’d be missing the highlight of the tour. So basically, I’m saying if you are thinking about skipping some of the visit you’d be better off not going at all!! It is a wonderful place - go, and enjoy the whole tour.
