Though the beach is still popular, the elegant splendor that once graced this seaside resort community barely shows through the paved-over streets, fast-food eateries and shopping centers.

Always windy, but very attractive and you can catch a wave if you're so inclined. Some beachfront shops and cafes if you want to spend some time there. The area is increasingly being renovated, so becoming very nice.

We were on an outing to Cape Point & someone wanted to stop here as they had seen pictures in a brochure.Complete waste of time--not even worth taking photos as the huts were in need of a good coat of paint

Muizenberg is a suburb of Cape Town with relatively rich historical context. Visiting it in the winter the windy beaches were beautiful, adorned by colorful little buildings but empty. The town quaint and pretty. You can feel that Muizenberg is up and coming. We had a bus trip to Muizenberg and the guide elaborated about the local 1795 battle in... More

Coming from a landlocked country this beach was heaven on earth. Breathtakingly beautiful and I loved the fact that are no crowds. It was a beautiful sunny day with no wind. Had a romantic picnic lunch and took a long stroll. When the wind picks up it can get cold and the only ones who truly enjoy it are the... More

This is a place with a lot of history. The battle of Muizenberg was the event and marked the place where the British defeated the Dutch all those years ago. It's a long nice beach where at the corner surfers congregate. It was not many years ago when the Jewish female community used to congregate behind the beach huts and... More

This is a family beach and, of course, the surfers hang-out. There is a young vibe, but for oldies like us there is a nice path along the sea towards Kalk Bay to walk. We downloaded a guided walk on our phones and found it very interesting to hear the history of the buildings etc. My husband likes to stop... More

It is not more than a couple of coloured beach houses but you'll see them so often in adverts/commercials etc... that I just wanted to stop for a short visit and see the beach myself. We parked at a railwaystation which was just a short walk from the beach. It was not too crowded so we could make some nice... More

It was so quaint going on the train to Muizenberg. We got off at the station and walked down to the beach. What a great beach. It was clean. The rock pools were so alive, we saw at least 20 star fish. The kids loved it. There were countless shells you could collect. There were loads of people surfing and... More
