Though the beach is still popular, the elegant splendor that once graced this seaside resort community barely shows through the paved-over streets, fast-food eateries and shopping centers.

We hired an apartment looking over the central beach area for four days. Good spot for surfers, generally plenty of friendly looking waves coming in, but beware of surfers if out swimming..getting struck by a wayward surfboard is a real risk, as I found out. Nasty hole and scar to show on my left cheek. The first aiders were great... More

A surfers, photographers and walkers paradise.... No day passes when this beach does not deliver something special, the beach and the various coffee and surf shops are great.

Don't mind the cold water, the view pays off! And if you're lucky, you'll see sharks! It's a must stop by!

White sand, clean beaches, clear water, amazing views of Silvermine range, legendary surfer's corner and plenty of nice shops and restaurants around the surfer's corner

Visited en route to Cape Of Good Hope. Photo of the famous coloured beach boxes was on my bucket list - done! Pretty relaxing seaside town, Dad tells me the restaurants especially seafood are great.

As a visitor, I was fascinated by the shark spotters and flags that flew based on whether sharks were in the area. I didn't go in the water but clearly the surfers did not mind.

Surfers corner is worth a visit to watch the many surfers. There's a nice little restaurant Knead where one can enjoy coffee or snacks and the fish & chips are good from Lucky Fish. Good weather is essential.

During winter watch the surfers in wetsuits and stroll along the beach. Eat ice-cream, drink great coffee or find the right meal for you all year round. In summer the sea is warm enough to make swimming pleasant. Change rooms pretty good
