Hout Bay is like the smaller, more peaceful, less busy brother to Camps Bay. A big sheltered sandy bay but with lots of dead seaweed. A few places to eat and drink but a rather dull place compared to Camps Bay. Probably won't go back

The Harbour is the attraction for me. I love walking around all the quant little places, greeting the locals and enjoying the sea air. The air is always filled with a buzz here. Plentybplaces to eat at or boat rides to take. Parking is plenty. A good way to excercise, enjoy and relax.

Hout Bay is a bustling little harbour and is home to many great eateries and the Hout Bay Market. The Chapman's Peak drive starts from Hout Bay. There is a hefty toll fee to utilise this route which offers you spectacular views as you journey through the pass which hugs the mountain face. One can also visit the old forts... More

Hout Bay is a beautiful area. Lovely million dollar homes, great place to visit on the tour bus. I would rate higher but its hard to understand that with all of the million dollar construction why are there still settlements? Why isn't someone building decent housing for these people who live in tin shacks, right across the street from a... More

Hout Bay has some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. The famous Chapman's Peak Drive starts in Hout Bay and ends in Noordhoek. Unforgettable drive along the coast. Hout Bay Village has lovely beaches, restaurants and shops, as well as pristine wooded areas with ancient forests.

Great little harbour. Enjoy fresh fish and chips. Interesting market. Stunning scenery. Can get crowded on a hot weekend day. Plenty of seals and lovely drive to and from the harbour from the City. Chapman's peak drive starts there. Spectacular.

This is one of my favorite places in the Western Cape. Lovely beach and more than enough places to have anything from breakfast on the beach to easy or fancy lunch and then a romantic dinner. My favorite place is Chapmans Peak Hotel - they make the best calamari ever!!

Suburb of Cape Town. Most picturesque area, surrounded by mountains and the sea. Great restaurants and shops. Very nice Barbour and harbor restaurant.

Great opportunity to take a boat ride out to see the seals at play in beautiful waters with surrounding mountain ranges. If you have a tendency to get sea sick, sit near the back of the boat where the sometime rocky waters make for a moving vessel. But the views are wonderful. The ride itself is relatively inexpensive and a... More
