Large attractive Bay

We drove past here and thought it looked lovely. It was not far from Sea Point where we were staying.

So I've seen a lot of Africa, mostly on business, this area attracted me more than anywhere I've seen. Could definitely see retiring there. It's Africa with a European flair. Beautiful coast, upscale houses with thatched roofs tucked into coastal forests.

If you have rented a car or take a day trip, Hout Bay is a good choice. The drive from Cape Town offers truly awe inspiring views. Once you get to Hout Bay, head to the harbour for fish and chips. If your journey takes you past Hout Bay towards Noordhoek, prepared to be dazzled by the most stunning views... More

We have visited twice and been disappointed both times because of the lack of activities. The restaurant is nice to sit and watch the sand artist or walkers along the beach.

Fantastic feed of fish and chips in this charming fishing village is highly recommended as are the souvenir stalls along the foreshore. You can even meet a sal on the jetty if you're lucky.

Covering an extra day around Cape Town, visiting, touring, wine tasting, ending at the harbor of Hout Bay. Excellent place for chilling dinner on seafood!

Sample some snoek (a very bony local fish) that's delish! It's worth the fight with the bones! It is served with wonderful homemade fries and leaves you wanting more!

The drive through was amazing. I want to live there some day. Beautiful coast with staggering cliffs. Everything was picturesque.
