Nathi walked us through the Township in a very friendly and professional way. We met with several local people in their homes, had the chance to ask our questions and to learn a lot about what it means to live in a Township. Overall it was not just an impressing but indeed an eye-opening experience around values, attitude and what... More

A great tour, not voyeuristic at all and gives you a great snapshot of life in the township, both the good and bad signs. Very friendly and informative tour guide as well.

Like many, I wasn't sure if I wanted to see a township because I didn't want to gawk at how poor people lived their daily lives. It seemed intrusive. But this tour was far from that. It was more of a cultural learning experience and I didn't feel uncomfortable at any time on the tour. Chippa was a great guide... More

My daughter and I took a private tour of Langa township with Siviwe Township Tours. Our guide Chippa was born and raised in the township. He picked us up at our hotel and on the way prepared us for the tour with the history and background. He then took us an outstanding walking tour. We were taken to houses and... More

We chose the option to drive to the drop-off point to meet our guide, Tati (spelling?). The car was safe there and the tour began with a stop-off at the community centre, where we looked at some of the local projects, including the pottery initiative. After this, Tati led us on a really wonderful tour of the township and I... More

I'm extremely grateful to Siviwe, who organized this tour, and Chippa, my guide (we went to Langa). I contacted Siviwe at the very last minute since I had an opening in my schedule; he responded to both his phone and email promptly, and organized a tour for me the very next morning at 9 am with great professionalism. Chippa was... More

I had a few hours to spare so I thought I'd give this a go. Turned out to be a really pleasant morning. My guide, Gladstone, was lovely, great personality and really informative. I felt a little uncomfortable at times bring in people's private homes but they seemed okay with it, and happy to tell me about their life etc.... More

Great tour and real insight into the township and way of life. Saw everything from the nicer homes to the shanty and even got to visit a shabeen. Siviwe was a great guide and appeared to know everyone. Can't recommend this tour highly enough.

A fascinating walking tour of the Langa township suburb. Our guide, Chippa, provided excellent commentary, covering the history and politics of the area plus insights into the everyday life of the local population. Chippa appeared to be on good terms with everyone and had organised a seamless tour, taking in the community centre, a beer tasting at a shebeen, the... More
