I'm extremely grateful to Siviwe, who organized this tour, and Chippa, my guide (we went to Langa). I contacted Siviwe at the very last minute since I had an opening in my schedule; he responded to both his phone and email promptly, and organized a tour for me the very next morning at 9 am with great professionalism. Chippa was... More

I had a few hours to spare so I thought I'd give this a go. Turned out to be a really pleasant morning. My guide, Gladstone, was lovely, great personality and really informative. I felt a little uncomfortable at times bring in people's private homes but they seemed okay with it, and happy to tell me about their life etc.... More

Great tour and real insight into the township and way of life. Saw everything from the nicer homes to the shanty and even got to visit a shabeen. Siviwe was a great guide and appeared to know everyone. Can't recommend this tour highly enough.

A fascinating walking tour of the Langa township suburb. Our guide, Chippa, provided excellent commentary, covering the history and politics of the area plus insights into the everyday life of the local population. Chippa appeared to be on good terms with everyone and had organised a seamless tour, taking in the community centre, a beer tasting at a shebeen, the... More

Don't expect walking in the middle of shacks for 2 hours: most of Langa actually looks like a "normal" suburb. We also found it a bit played from time to time. But overall it is interesting to see and hear the story of the township. The highlight was visiting the tiny shack/house of an older man and hearing his story... More

Our guide, Lele, took our family (2 adults and 2 kids ages 10,12) on a private tour of Langa. Lele is fantastic. He still calls the township his home. He arranged a soccer game in the streets for our boys and some of the neighborhood kids. Visited a few homes and shops. Always felt safe and welcomed. You can't visit... More

The insight in Langa, although of course still superficial, was an excellent and a precious experience, to meet the people, to feel the atmosphere, to lift a little bit the mystery about the word township and to learn about the living conditions. We will carry this experience with us. Thank you very much for this super tour which we can... More

I was very apprehensive going on this tour but it had been strongly recommended to me and I am so glad that I went. Our tour guide Thando gave us a warm welcome to his township of which he was obviously very proud. We had a very interesting conversation with one of the elderly locals as we sat in the... More

Took my kids on the tour as I had grown up in South Africa. They and I agreed that it was the highlight of the trip to Cape Town. Siviwe was a fantastic guide, knew everyone and gave us such great insight into the life within the township and how he views the future of South Africa. I cannot recommend... More
