Eye opening experience

Fantastic guide who gave us a view from the inside. Arranged for us to visit a "pub", the kindergarten, etc.

Me and my husband found the tour through Tripadvisor website one day before we left South Africa after a 3 week holiday. We decided to join, although we were a bit in doubt of the town ship tours before coming to this country. But 3 weeks of traveling raised a lot of questions about the history, the people and how... My travel companion found the tour group. We were able to book a tour the day before successfully. Cheepa met us at our hotel and kindly waited for us since we were running late. He was very professional and made us feel comfortable and safe. We spent only a few days in the city and it would've been incomplete without... More

Four of us booked this tour for a Saturday morning after many days of sight-seeing (Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch, safari, etc.) This ranks among the top experiences we've had in South Africa. Our guide Nathi did an exceptional job of explaining township life, Apartheid challenges, and the slow pace of post-Apartheid progress, while maintaining an incredibly positive outlook. Walking many of... More

The last "minute" we decided to book this tour. We didn't plan this, but as we passed by so many townships during our stay in South Africa, we felt we wanted to learn more about them. The evening before we sent a message, and we could join the tour of 9.20, 12 or 14.30 the day after. Due to the... More

We were lucky and spent an really interesting and touching noon in the oldest township of Cape Town "Langa" with Connie. Our guide gave us deep insights in the history of Cape Town. As well, we were able to interact with locals of the township of all levels, went into a church and craft market.

Luthando was our personal guide in a safe and 3h tour in the oldest township of CapeTown, Langa. A good remainder to open your eyes on our lifestyle. Your children must join the tour: 60% unemployment, alcohol addiction and violence are fight by a community full of love, friendship and charity. Going back home changed and hope to keep this... I was hesitant to go on a Township Tour because it felt as if you were ogling poorer people. On advice from our hotel my father and I decided to go anyway and came across Siviwe Tours on Tripadvisor. They were very fast in their e-mail reply (30min on a Sunday afternoon) and took us on a general tour; we... More

My mom and I visited Langa in addition to the Happy Feet Youth Project with Siviwe Tours. Our guide was Siviwe himself and he greeted us at the meeting location on time and full of energy. After a drop by the community center where we got coffee and muffins, we began a life-changing visit. He will be sure to tell... More

Nathi/Natti was brilliant- our girls were quite nervous before, but he relaxed them straight away- joking & teasing! He was very informative- hitting the balance between fun/information perfectly. The children there were so happy and keen to interact- it's a great experience. Our girls said it was the best part of our Cape Town trip!
