Great experience. Very touching. Unsure if this is the correct site (in Langa, CT). Food was great and to see the families working hard to make ends meat was enlightening. Visited in June 2019

I was traveling by myself and could spend only 24 hours in cape Town. My hotel organized the tour for me with Thabang Titoti (from E.zizwe Travel and Tours) and I am very grateful they managed to accommodate a last minute tour for me. It was just me, and it lasted a full Sunday morning. I really liked the tour, as it shows an important side of South Africa and Cape Town which I would have not had decide to see by myself as a foreigner woman traveling by herself. I was not sure it was a good idea to take this trip in the township, and I am glad I took the tour with Thabang. His quiet and respectful way of showing the township and his frank and honest relationship with few local people made it special. I recommend the company, and Thabang, for honesty, convenience (low price for the area), flexibility (the travel was arranged at the last minute and the price did not change even if it was just me) and generosity (I was driven to the beach and to the Lion's head, even if that was not part of the programme).

I was a bit skeptical at first but after my visit to Langa I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Cape Town. Our group did all the normal destinations: Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape Point, wine country, Waerfront, etc., and those are all fine and great to see but they are in essence Europe in Africa. If you want to experience a real taste of Africa go see a township with Ubizo. They offer an authentic experience that cannot be matched. You get to interact with the locals and hear the township story. Their guides don't just throw dates at you but really aimto get you to feel the heartbeat of the township. You meet very friendly locals and even get to break bread with them.
Without a doubt, this was the best experience I have had in the city and anyone visiting should see the reality of Africa through Ubizo!

I think using townships as a tourist attraction is very disrespectful to the people who live there. I don't think visiting a place where the black citizens of Cape Town live in substandard conditions and charging a fee is morally right. I can't imagine how the people who live there feel when they have to deal with white tourist constantly gawking at their home life as if it was some sort of exhibit.

My 19 year old son and I spent 6 days in Cape town. We had received Thabang's information from a friend as a resource for tours but also someone to pick us up from the airport. My son and I were so taken with Thabang and his deep understanding of the political and social issues in South Africa, that we continued to schedule different adventures with him. We did the township tour, the peninsula tour, wine land tour and a trip to Hermanus. My son and I like to deeply discuss challenging topics and asked difficult questions regarding racism and apartheid and Thabang was so open to our conversation and always had deep and thoughtful responses. Overall, Thabang was incredible and really went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our time in South Africa and came away with a deeper understanding of apartheid and pretty much any of the other 1000 questions we asked him. 10/10 would highly recommend.

This was a great tour. I did the Township & District Six cultural tour, with an added tour to Robben Island. I can't say how great this experience was. Our guide Thabang was knowledgeable, passionate, and highly professional. I had on time pickup and drop off for all my tours. I was very knowledgeable abut South Africa, but the detail level provided exceeded my expectations. If you are the least bit interested in going away from the tourist side of Cape Town and getting a taste of how people leave, I can't recommend this tour enough.

Me and my husband had 6 days in Cape Town. Since it was our first visit (to both the country and the city), we wanted to explore to city and its diverse aspects. One of the things we were hoping to see, was how a large part of the community lives. The township tour with E.Zizwe was enlightening! The guide, Thabang Titoti showed us different parts of town (district six) and townships. It really gave us a good view of the way people live there. Thabang was super nice and his tour very informative! Also, we felt very safe during the tour, since Tabang knows a lot of the people you visit with him in the township.
The tour took half a day and costed about 410 Rand (about €30). It was absolutely money well spend and we would advise the tour to everyone who will visit Cape town.

BEWARE!

There are certain tour guides with the African Eagle Group whom you should be very wary of.
We booked a tour through the Cape Tourism office in Cape Town.

We paid for a tour of Langa and Khayelitsha.
The tour began pleasantly enough with a walking tour of Langa, and then the tour guide decides to give us a driven tour of Guguletu, and Nyanga.
As we approach the border of Nyanga, he announces that we are now in Khayelitsha.
Checking our google map location to see where we are, its quite obvious that we are nowhere near Khayelitsha. After bringing this to the tour guides attention, he becomes clearly nervous.
It becomes quite obvious that he is trying to cut the tour short by telling us that Nyanga is Khayelitsha, and he is completely skipping our walking tour of the second township tour, at Khayelitsha!

He brands us nuts, and crazy, and tells us Khayelitsha is a large area and this is indeed the beggining of it.
Dissapointed and feeling cheated, we dont argue further, even though our google map gps clearly shows us our location in Nyanga, with Khayelitsha at least a 20 minute drive away.

The Tour guide is a big black fat guy, with a big mouth to boot.
Beware! and dont fall for unscrupulous guides tricks!!!
He must be fooling as many naive tourists as possible to cut his day short, earning him money for halgf a job done!

WATCH OUT! and check your google maps on your smartphone to ensure your not getting ripped off!

You have not really seen Cape Town until you have seen the Townships. We spent a very important and informative morning with Thabang Titotti. He has a great understanding of township life having grown up in one. He is also very personable. Making the whole experience that much more enjoyable. He picks you up where you are staying and will drop you off where ever you would like. He is very networked and takes you into daily life in the township. Very eye opening. And very glad we took the time to see more of Cape Town than the brochures usually tell you about.

Mike Zuma made our tour incredibly informative, fun and enlightening. This tour was not on our radar initially, but we are so happy we experienced it. You won't regret it...this is REAL Capetown.

This is the experience I talk about when telling friends of our time in Capetown, and that is saying a lot. Capetown is full of incredible sights and experiences, but this one sticks with you.
