The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

A true gem in Cape Town

Open to everyone, great for families, runners, meditation and and and. I love this place. I hope the City of Cape Town will take good care of it for years to come. Free.

We've been there a few times now with the kids. It gets quite busy on weekends at the play area with everyone bringing their kids. Great that the park gets used. Fantastic for picnics and well maintained.

This space is just so lovely to take your family for a nice afternoon stroll. Rolling lawns for little ones to run to their hearts' content. There is also the coolest little play park I have ever came across in South Africa. My toddler enjoyed herself thoroughly. We will def return, hopefully very soon.

This park is very nice for taking a stroll with your family, riding bikes, taking the dog for a walk or just taking the kiddies to play. There are several play areas inside, gym and walkways and lots of nature to see. Unfortunately the nearest place to get something to eat or drink would be Newport Deli near the Light... More

This modern urban park close the Cape Town's epicenter boasts sprawling lawns, notable fauna and flora as well as a practical spot for a braai and other family activities. Many great educational areas to enlighten on eco matters and very well maintained to boot. Great for a stroll any day of the week

Great if you're looking for a space to run (the Green Point Park Run is held there on Saturday mornings as an option) or for a relaxing walk in the evenings. Option: take a picnic over the weekends. The park closes at sunset.

My wife and I have spent quite a few hours in this park. Very relaxing, safe and peaceful. Quite busy on weekends, but one would never say it is full because of the vast amount of space in the park.

The Park was clean and I was impressed to find a guard at the entrance we used, who checked that our picnic did not contain any alcohol. The area is vast. Lots of grass to play ball games on or just picnic. Table and bench areas to sit and eat. There was an enclosed play Area for children under 6... More
