the first day in Cape town that you get good weather you go up the mountain, dont wait for another good day, it may not happen, the cities weather changes continuously. allow an hour or so at the top, and probably the same for queuing at the bottom, but do go!

we took the klipspringer trail and viewed the highlights. It was cool and sunny. We followed advice of a local who said if you can see the top of table mountain go.

The cool breeze, the view, the cleanliness, the different information stops with art and a huge compass make this place one of the best national parks I've been to. Very organized, clearly marked signboards and the restaurant with hot food and a view that adds the right amount of spice!

Every minute spent on Table Mountain, is worth it. The views are breathtaking and stunning, to say the least. A pair of binoculars is beneficial. The Park is very well maintained.

We could see the top of Table Top Mountain from the V & A Waterfront on the first day we arrived - sunny day and very clear. When we went there the next day, a huge cloud had formed over the mountain and did not move for the next 2 days. The result - cloudy and cold on Table Top... More

Arrived first in line early in the day with tour guide. Although cloudy in morning by the time we took ride to top of the mountain above the clouds - we were able to walk around and have the space practically to ourselves. Amazing views. Take lots of pictures and enjoy the moment. I actually shed a few tears here... More

Probably the best thing to do in Cape Town, have a great view from the cape penninsula, do a hike (45min/1hr/2hr) through the national park and enjoy! Make sure you check with the local authorities for the cableway may be closed for maintenance (last week of July/first week of August) or bad weather (fog or rain).

Plan to get there early as the lines stacks up. Also keep in mind you need to go when Table Mountain does not have its "Table Clothe" on. If you plan on hiking, give yourself three hours. Look for those cute little Dassie's!
