Due to time restrictions, I took the cable car up (though the hike up looks like a lot of fun). If taking the cable car, try to buy your ticket ahead of time to avoid long lines. The views from the top of the mountain - AMAZING. Different views from all sides. The paths are well marked and in really... More

Mountain top has since been enhanced for photo optics as many spots make remarkable picture backgrounds compared to back in 2010 when I hiked. The restaurant- Table Mountain Cafe was though a little pricey (after my hike I was ready to devour a cow for lunch - I ended up being a little conservative on my buffet selection as pricing... The queues can get quite long at certain times so it's best to pre-book the cable car tickets. You can see why it's considered a 'Wonder of the World'. The weather plays a significant part in the enjoyment of the visit so it's best to be prepared.

Hiked the table mountain for the second time. Great to do and it gices you a great scenery. Plattekloof route takes about 1,5hour if you normaal walk it. Running is 30minutes. Make sure you go early in the morning and have at least 2 liters of water per person with you.

After three days of trying we managed to get up the day we flew home. It was a sunny windless day and despite an hour and a half queue in the hot sun it was well worth the wait. The cable car trip up and down was great with a 360 degree view as the floor rotates. The views from... More

This is a beautiful mountain. You can walk up (I would advice to start at the botanical garden, then you don't walk the whole route in the sun). Or you go via the cable. Walk: 2,5 hours at least. Cable 5 minutes (275R pp) Restaurant serves fresh food and several drinks. At the top are 3 routes you can walk... More

This is a highly popular attraction so queuing is inevitable. Best to book tickets for the cableway on line to cut some of the queuing, but it is also possible to walk to the top in a couple of hours. The top is flat with a range of pathways for all abilities, including wheelchair-friendly paths. There is a well stocked... More

We were so lucky to have had such a clear day for our trip up to Table Mountain on the day after we arrived in Cape Town. The skies were blue and the haze not too much. We must have chosen a good time, early afternoon, as there was not a queue and we went straight onto the cable car... More

This is not an easy hike. I categorize it as mountain climbing and maybe it seemed that way due to the high winds. The views are beautiful, so be sure to bring your camera, energy and water.

We had an awesome view of the city spread out below us. The ride on the cableway was interesting as it was constantly turning so that we had a 360 degree view.
