Table Mountain provides the backdrop for Cape Town, and the park encompasses the Cape of Good Hope as well. It's made so accessible for everyone, and provides stunning views.

To avoid standing in the queue book your tickets for the cable lift on internet. Stunning views on the bay and the city from above. Walk around for a better impression. The guided tour (starting every hour) was disappointing. More stories about the city and general things than a walk around on the mountain.

My best moment in Cape Town was Table Mountain....gloriously magnificent! We had chosen the perfect day...no win...just sun and blue skies. The view from Table Mountain is breath taking.

Took the cable car to the top of table mountain earlier this month. Cost R255 per person after queuing for around 2 hours to buy tickets, however the views from the top were spectacular and worth the wait. My advice would be to check the website before visiting as sometimes the cable cars don't run if it's windy (which we... More

Took the cable car up and had gorgeous views of capetown with the "tablecloth" clouds. Some rocky bits but otherwise easy to walk around. Didn't attempt to hike up or down the mountain, didn't think it was well sign posted with regards to trails. Would be challenging if winds are very strong

Staff could be more friendly. Had one grumpy staff member that makes it unpleasant taking groups there. For goodness sake this is our livelihood, be nice to the visitors

This place deserves to be one of the 7 new wonders of the world! The views from the top are extraordinary. You can also take up one of the trails that start at the Upper Station, and if you go for the longest one (neither of the three standard ones), you will also immerse yourself in a beautiful and peaceful... Due to time restrictions, I took the cable car up (though the hike up looks like a lot of fun). If taking the cable car, try to buy your ticket ahead of time to avoid long lines. The views from the top of the mountain - AMAZING. Different views from all sides. The paths are well marked and in really... More

Mountain top has since been enhanced for photo optics as many spots make remarkable picture backgrounds compared to back in 2010 when I hiked. The restaurant- Table Mountain Cafe was though a little pricey (after my hike I was ready to devour a cow for lunch - I ended up being a little conservative on my buffet selection as pricing... The queues can get quite long at certain times so it's best to pre-book the cable car tickets. You can see why it's considered a 'Wonder of the World'. The weather plays a significant part in the enjoyment of the visit so it's best to be prepared.
